911/112 Operator Wiki

Trapped Man is an Incident in the 112 Operator Water Operations DLC that is part of the Water Landing event, and can only spawn as part of that event. This incident always occurs when the landing plane is a cargo plane, and will only ever occur under that specific circumstance.

This incident may only occur on water, and reached only by water or airborne vehicles. It requires both firefighter and medical response, and has only one incident site.

The incident involves a crew-member on the crashing cargo plane who has failed to evacuate, and is now trapped inside the crashed aircraft. Firefighters must cut the emergency hatch open, after which medics can treat the crew-member and evacuate them to hospital.

UNFORTUNATELY, a typo in the incident causes you to always get a penalty of -4 for this incident, whether it is resolved or ignored. This almost nullifies the reward for resolving the Water Landing event when a cargo plane is involved. However, it also means that this particular incident can be ignored without wasting any time or effort on it.

Conditions to Spawn[]

The Trapped Man incident requires the Water Operations DLC to be installed and active. The incident will not happen during normal play, until such time that the Water Landing event happens - if it happens at all. During that event, a plane makes an emergency landing in a large body of water. If (and only if) the plane in question is reported as a cargo plane, this incident will spawn near the plane's position during its final moments before crashing into the water.

Resolution[]

The Trapped Man incident must be reached within 700 seconds of real time (on SLOW game speed) or it will automatically fail. However, as explained below, this doesn't really matter.

Both the reward for resolving this incident, and the penalty for ignoring it, are identical: -4 points. This means that you will lose Reputation points for this event no matter what you do. As such, this incident can be ignored instead of wasting time or effort on it. Fortunately, resolving the other incidents in the cargo plane crash event will offset this loss entirely.

112 IncidentIcon MF Tech Scene Elements[]

This incident contains one scene with one firefighter element and one medical element.

Description[]

The scene takes place in open water, next to the body of the crashed plane. The two elements are the crew-member trapped inside, and the plane's stuck hatch.

The hatch must always be dealt with first. This is a tech element requiring 400 Work Seconds to resolve - a medium-sized job that most firefighter crews should be able to handle fairly quickly, even without special tools. It is, however, too big a job for non-firefighter units to handle, so a firefighter boat should always be sent to the scene.

Only once the hatch is opened can medics rush into the plane to treat the trapped crew-member. The crew-member is only mildly injured, and is not in danger of dying while waiting for assistance. Once treated, the crew-member must be evacuated to a harbor or hospital.
