Trapped In Sand is a Reported Incident in 112 Operator that is only available with the Water Operations DLC. It occurs outside the water, and can be reached only by land or airborne vehicles. This rare incident may only occur during Hot weather; it cannot occur under any other circumstances. It requires both police and firefighter response, and has only one incident site. It can start occurring on the very first duty of any game.
The incident involves a person who had been buried in sand with their head sticking out, as a joke between friends; but the friends decided to leave the person buried. Firefighters must dig the person out of the sand (a trivial job), while police officers question the victim (a more substantial job).
Conditions to Spawn[]
The Trapped In Sand incident requires the Water Operations DLC to be installed and active. This incident can spawn on any Duty in any game mode, but can only spawn on Hot weather days, though even then it is rare compared to other water incidents. It cannot spawn under any other circumstances.
This incident may only spawn in Water districts, and only at specifically-designated "waterfront" locations (beaches, harbors, etc.). These locations - assuming the map includes them at all - are found right on the shoreline; despite technically being in the Water district, they can only be reached with land or airborne vehicles.
Resolution[]
The Trapped In Sand incident must be reached within 700 seconds of real time (on SLOW game speed) or it will automatically fail.
The reputation reward for resolving this incident is +1.
The penalty for ignoring this incident is -1, subjected to multipliers from the current difficulty setting.
Scene Elements[]
This incident contains one scene with one police element and one firefighter element.
Description[]
The scene takes place on the waterfront, with vehicles arriving from the land side. The victim is still buried in the sand. The victim and sand are two separate elements; sometimes only one is visible since they often spawn on top of each other.
The sand is a tech element requiring only 100 Work Seconds to resolve. This is a trivial task for firefighters, but even non-firefighting crews could resolve it, given enough time. It is generally best to send a tech crew, just to get it over with quickly.
The victim must be questioned by police, which takes a total of 300 Work Seconds. This is a substantial job, and could take officers quite a bit of time to resolve. Fortunately, police may begin to question the victim while firefighters are digging out the sand, so there is no undue delay.
Technically, a single police unit could resolve this entire scene on its own; but the work would take them a very long time. It's usually best to send both police and firefighters.
