The Transport Helicopter is an airborne police vehicle in 112 Operator. One of the most useful (and most expensive!) police vehicles in the game, it can transport 3 officers to an incident, flying in a straight line at very high speed, and remove up to 2 arrested criminals from the site. Capable of handling situations both on land and water, and enjoying a large bonus to search speed, even a single Transport Helicopter can be more valuable than multiple other police units. However, it cannot stop moving incidents, and thus cannot completely replace ground units.
The Transport Helicopter is completely immobilized in very strong wind conditions.
Description[]
"A fast and efficient helicopter which can get to hard to access areas. Big enough to carry suspects. Helicopters cannot stop the pursuit."
Overview[]
The Transport Helicopter is one of two airborne police vehicles in the game, and is one of the last vehicles to be unlocked during a career, scenario, or freeplay game.
This helicopter is the single most expensive unit in the game, at a price of €250,000. However, it justifies this price by being one of the most effective police units in the game.
The Transport Helicopter carries 3 police officers - one more than a Patrol Car. This makes the Transport Helicopter both quicker to resolve incidents (especially if multiple suspects are involved) and more effective in bringing backup to a hostile encounter compared to a Patrol Car. A top speed of 230 - one of the fastest in the game - also ensures that the helicopter can reach almost any incident in short order, sometimes even faster than any local unit. The ability to move in straight lines, and completely ignore both terrain and traffic, helps greatly as well, as is the ability to reach both land and water incidents.
Another extremely important ability of the Transport Helicopter is carrying up to 2 arrested criminals to jail, and is the main reason this helicopter is so much more effective (and more expensive) than a Police Helicopter. It allows the Transport Helicopter to resolve most incidents completely on its own, up to and including small-scale shootouts, when/if other units aren't available. Still, it is a good idea to send ground units to assist in the more major cases; but a Transport Helicopter can usually handle anything that other vehicles are too busy or too far to handle.
As an airborne unit, the Transport Helicopter is incapable of stopping a moving incident. This is the main reason why Transport Helicopters cannot completely replace your ground fleet, even if you have the money to afford them. Still, a Transport Helicopter can keep up with a moving incident until such time that a ground unit can intercept and stop it, at which point the Transport Helicopter adds its 3 officers to the scene to help make the arrest. A Transport Helicopter working together with a Police Pursuit Car, for example, can handle a moving incident very quickly.
It's also important to mention that a Transport Helicopter provides a +1 Search skill bonus to each of the three officers on board. This makes it incredibly good at conducting searches. It can typically search a sector just by flying across it, but even sending the helicopter to the automated search site will usually yield results very quickly. With 3 officers compared to the Police Helicopter's 2, the search process is effectively 50% faster.
Finally, note that like all other helicopters, the Transport Helicopter is incapable of flying at all when the wind speed reaches or exceeds Level 15.
