Train Hit Person is the name of a Reported Incident in 112 Operator that was originally written for the Train Crash event. However, that event was ultimately changed into a self-contained Call Incident, and all train-related incidents were rolled into it. As a result, while "Train Hit Person" is included in the game files, it cannot occur in the game without console commands; but a near-identical version of it can occur as part of the Train Accident call.

This incident requires police, medical, and firefighter response. It has only one scene.

The incident involves a train that has hit a pedestrian at a rail crossing. The injured pedestrian is still alive, and must be treated and evacuated to a hospital. The train's driver must be questioned by police to determine what happened, and the train must be cleared off the rail crossing by firefighters to restore the flow of traffic.

Conditions to Spawn[]

The Train Hit Person incident is one of five incidents that were originally written for the Train Crash event. They are explicitly named in the configuration file for that event. Since events are hard-coded, it is unknown how the event was supposed to select which of these incidents to spawn, and in what pattern.

The Train Crash event was later changed, and now only ever triggers a Call Incident named "Train Accident". This incident contains several scenes that are very similar to the five removed incidents, and chooses one of them based on a phone conversation rather than hard-coded scripting.

The result is that the Train Hit Person incident no longer spawns in the game at all, but a version of it may occur as part of the Train Accident call. However, since it is still included in the game files, it can be forced to spawn using Console Commands.

Had this incident been allowed to spawn, it would always occur on a rail crossing. Some maps do not have any such crossings, in which case the incident will fail to spawn if invoked.

Resolution[]

The Train Hit Person incident must be reached within 600 seconds of real time (on SLOW game speed) or it will automatically fail.

The Reputation reward for resolving this incident is +9.

The maximum possible penalty of ignoring this incident is -9, but decreases with each element resolved. It is possible to receive a positive Reputation from ignoring this scene partway through. The penalty is always subject to multipliers from the current difficulty setting.

Scene Elements[]

The Train Hit Person incident contains one scene with one medical element, one police element, and one firefighter element.

Traffic Jam[]

As soon as this scene is created, it begins to generate a Traffic Jam that will expand at a rate of 0.05 along every connecting street. This is a very slow rate, so it shouldn't create a large jam by the time units begin to arrive, but could still be a nuisance.

The Traffic Jam will slow down all ground-based units attempting to travel through it. Smaller vehicles move faster through Traffic Jams, and airborne vehicles ignore them completely.

As soon as the scene is resolved, the Traffic Jam will begin to clear, from the center outwards.

Description[]

The scene takes place at a rail crossing. The injured pedestrian is lying on the ground, and the train driver is nearby. There is also an element representing the damage caused to the rail crossing by the collision.

The injured person is severely injured (only 1 Hit Point left), but is not in danger of dying on the scene. They require the maximum amount of treatment possible, followed by transport to hospital.

Meanwhile, police can question the train driver to determine what happened. This takes twice as long as a normal "questioning", but is not a substantial job and can even be performed by a single officer within a reasonable amount of time.

Finally, firefighters must clear the rubble and debris from the crash itself, to re-open the crossing for traffic. This is a technical element that requires only 250 Work Seconds to resolve - a rather trivial task for a good technical crew, though most firefighter units should be able to handle it just fine.

Ignore Penalty[]

The default penalty for ignoring this incident is -9 points. However, each element resolved on the scene reduces the penalty by a given number of points.

Resolving the driver or the injured person reduces the penalty by 4 points each. Resolving the technical element reduces it by 10 points.

As a result, it is possible to bring the Ignore Penalty for this incident to positive numbers, actually rewarding you Reputation points for ignoring the incident. Just clearing the technical element puts it at +1; adding the driver or injured person raises it to +5.

Remember, of course, that actually resolving the scene properly rewards you with the full +9 points.
