The Tactical Uniform is a police officer personal armor in 112 Operator, that can only be placed in the chest slot. It becomes available partway into any career, scenario, or freeplay game, and costs €5,000 to purchase as part of a gear set for police officers.

The Tactical Uniform offers two important protective bonuses: a Protection Chance of 0.7, and a Damage Reduction of 5. These work in different ways to protect the officer from injuries during combat with criminals.

The Protection Chance is the most important of the two values: any incoming attack has a 70% chance to be completely blocked by the armor, causing no damage to the officer whatsoever. This even includes Shotgun blasts, which tend to cause instant injury when they do hit. This Protection Chance value is one of the highest bestowed from any source, with only the Special Forces Van providing a higher value (0.9).

Note that it is currently unknown how Protection bonuses from multiple items (including the armor of the vehicle that the officer rides in) affect each other. However, it is clear that there is a certain cap: it's not possible to attain 100% protection (e.g. by wearing a Tactical Uniform for 0.7 Protection, while riding in a Special Forces Van for another 0.9 Protection). Some attacks will always get through.

The second bonus from the Tactical Uniform is a Damage Reduction bonus of +5. While it is not entirely clear how this bonus works, it reduces the Damage value of any weapon attacking the officer by 5 points. This may either reduce the chance for the assailant to score an injuring blow to the officer spontaneously; increase the number of times the officer can be hit before they are automatically injured; or both. All in all, it slightly increases survivability when hit by a weapon.

Together, these two bonuses make the officer highly resistant to incoming attacks. While they may still be unlucky enough to get injured by a criminal's very first attack, this is quite rare; most often an officer wearing a Tactical Uniform will last around three to four times longer in combat than an officer wearing no armor. This makes the Tactical Uniform crucial for officers whose job is to bring down large groups of armed criminals, up to and including bank robbers and even well-armed terrorists. Couple this with a Special Forces Van to give your officers the best protection currently available in the game.
