911/112 Operator Wiki

"Sure, send the police, whatever... But he needs an ambulance, fast!"

Sword Stab is a Call Incident in 112 Operator. It is allowed to trigger only after Level-1 Calls have been unlocked (in Campaign mode, that happens on Duty #5). This call only spawns a single incident site that requires both medical and police response. The call dialogue is completely predictable (no randomized responses from the caller).

The incident involves the master of a martial arts dojo calling to report that one of his students has stabbed himself in the arm. After advising the caller to put pressure on the wound and immobilize the arm with a belt, the operator sends an ambulance to treat the student and take him to a hospital; and a police unit to question the caller and other students to make sure that it was indeed an accident.

For the best solution to this call, see this guide.

Opening Lines[]

Speaker Line
Operator 112, what's your emergency?
Caller Hello? I'm caling from a school at <address>. One of our trainees just stabbed himself with a sword.

Trigger Conditions[]

The Sword Stab incident cannot trigger before Level-1 calls have been unlocked. In a Campaign game, that happens on Duty #5.

Once this call is triggered, it will not be triggered again for the remainder of the game - except in Freeplay mode if "Repeated Calls" have been enabled.

Structure[]

The Sword Stab incident is a Call Incident, which begins with a phone conversation with a citizen. The call is completely predictable: it contains no randomized responses from the caller, and the outcome depends entirely on choices made by the operator; the same choices will always lead to the same results.

This incident contains only a single scene, which becomes visible on the map as soon as the caller finishes speaking their opening line.

Call Summary[]

The Sprained Knee incident begins with a martial arts dojo master calling 112 to report that one of his students had stabbed himself in the arm with a katana sword, on the inside of the left elbow. The student is bleeding profusely.

The operator advises the caller to raise the student's arm to reduce the bleeding, and then put pressure on the wound - which the caller says he was already doing. The operator then instructs the caller to use one of the martial arts belts to immobilize the student's shoulder. These actions keep the student from bleeding out as emergency units make their way to the scene.

In addition to an ambulance, the operator also sends a police unit to question the dojo master and a couple of student, to ensure that the injury was indeed an accident.

Negative Choices[]

There are no choices that will directly hurt your performance; but failing to give good first-aid advice leaves the student bleeding at a very quick rate; he might not survive if emergency units don't arrive at the scene quickly.

Sword Stab Scene[]

The Sword Stab incident contains only a single scene, which is hidden at first, but becomes visible as soon as the caller finishes speaking their very first line. There is never a need to trace this call.

The scene always spawns at a School. The location of all schools on the map is based on real-world data.

The scene contains one medical element and three police elements.

Description[]

This scene takes place in a building. The caller is inside with the the injured trainee. Two other, uninjured students are also present.

The injured student's health starts at 60 Hit Points when the call begins, but deteriorates at a rate of -0.15 with every real-time second that passes (on SLOW game speed). This gives you a total of 400 seconds, from the moment the conversation started, to get to him and begin treatment before he dies. Three different conversation options can reduce the bleeding rate, down to -0.05 if all three are selected, giving ample time for units to get to the scene. After treatment, the injured student must be taken to a hospital.

Additionally, police must question the caller and two other students. The students take about half as much time to question as is normal for witnesses.

Resolution[]

This scene must be reached within 1,500 seconds of real time (on SLOW game speed) or it will automatically fail. This is a very long time limit, equal to more than half a Duty, but there is an injured man on the scene who is bleeding and could die. This would result in a massive reduction of your score.

The default reputation reward for resolving this scene is +5. However, if the injured man dies on the scene, this is reduced to 0.

The default penalty for ignoring this scene is -5, if the scene is ignored before the injured man bleeds to death. Otherwise, the penalty is -10. Both cases are subject to multipliers from the current difficulty setting.

Trivia[]

This call is one of three Call Incidents from the same dojo. This would've been the first call in the series, since the other calls contain unused dialogue recognizing the caller. However, that part of the calls has been removed, probably to allow the three calls to be played in any order.

The dojo master's name is Bartek Gajewski - the lead developer of 911 Operator and 112 Operator. He also voices the character in the English-language version of the game.

First Aid Objective[]

This call may or may not be able to complete the First Aid objective. The current script for both Campaign and Freeplay games appears to suggest that only the Woman Hit By A Car incident can complete the objective, based on a function that specifically reads the results of that incident.

However, both the Sword Stab and Sprained Knee incidents are tagged as "mission_firsthelp". This may be some sort of hard-coded signal to the First Aid event. More testing is required to determine the relationship, if any, between the incidents, the event, and the objective.
