- Not to be confused with the Storm event, which this incident is a part of.
- "A tree fell during the storm and I bumped into it... I promise I wasn't driving fast!"
Storm is a Call Incident in 112 Operator. This call will not trigger on its own; it will only be triggered by the Storm event, and is often the final incident in that event. This call includes only one scene, which always requires firefighter response, as well as either police or medical response, depending on the outcome of the conversation. The call dialogue is completely predictable (no randomized responses from the caller).
The incident involves a young man calling 112 to report that he has just crashed his car into a fallen tree in the middle of a blinding storm. The operator must provide the proper instructions on how to mark the area so that other cars do not also crash into the same tree. Firefighter units must clear away the tree, after which police can question the caller about his accident; but if the phone conversation goes wrong, a second accident occurs and the caller (as well as the driver of the other vehicle) must be treated by medics instead.
Due to what might be a typo in the script, this call can be immediately ignored while still earning a handful of Reputation points without sending any units. However, the reward can be more than doubled by correctly navigating the conversation and sending units to assist.
For the best solution to this call, see this guide.
Opening Lines[]
| Speaker | Line | |
|---|---|---|
| Operator | 112, what's your emergency? | |
| Caller | Hey... I want to report an accident... | |
Trigger Conditions[]
The Storm incident is a scripted incident; it cannot spawn unless specifically triggered by an Event.
This incident only triggered by the Storm event, and is usually the last Call Incident to occur during that event, on its 3rd (and final) Duty.
In Campaign mode, this incident always happens on Duty #15.
In Freeplay games, the Storm event may or may not happen at all, depending on the difficulty setting and random chance. At "Junior" difficulty, it can happen between Duties #4 and #12; while at "Middle" difficulty, it can happen between Duties #1 and #9. It cannot happen at all at higher difficulty settings. In this game mode, the Storm incident always happens on the 3rd and final Duty of the event.
The Storm event is the main focus of the Frankenstorm scenario, which takes place in New York City, USA. During this scenario, the Storm incident always happens on Duty #2, together with Missing In Storm (either of them might happen first).
Structure[]
The Storm incident is a Call Incident, which begins with a phone conversation with a citizen. The call is completely predictable: it contains no randomized responses from the caller, and the outcome depends entirely on choices made by the operator; the same choices will always lead to the same results.
This incident includes only a single scene, whose location is only revealed if the caller is asked for it. If the conversation ends without discovering the location, it will be traced within 450 real-time seconds (on SLOW game speed) from the moment the conversation started.
Choices made during the call mostly adjust your Reputation reward for resolving the incident; but a wrong choice can lead to an accident, which completely changes the nature of the scene. If this outcome is reached, the scene now requires medics instead of police officers.
Call Summary[]
During severe storm conditions, a young man calls 112 to report that he had just had an accident while driving in his father's car. He claims that a tree had fallen onto the road, and he ran into it. The young man is safe, but is worried that he will be punished severely by his father for wrecking the car.
The operator asks the caller to set up the necessary warning signs for other drivers. He asks the caller to find the reflective jacket inside his car, put it on, and then take a warning triangle from the trunk of his car and set it on the road. After the caller does this, he is instructed to get back into his car and wait for emergency services to arrive.
The operator sends firefighters to remove the tree off the road. After that is done, police officers question the caller regarding his actions leading up to the crash.
Alternative Ending[]
The operator might decide that the call does not merit emergency response. Instead of instructing the young man to set up warning signs, he can tell him to wait out the storm, and/or call road assistance instead of 112. The caller is disappointed with this reply, and the conversation ends with the sound of a loud crash, as a second car plows into the caller's car.
While this ending is narratively negative, it usually doesn't negatively affect your score (only a very specific choice of words would do that). The call can still be ignored to receive a positive reward. It can also still be resolved by sending units to the scene (for that same reward, usually); but now it requires medics to take care of both injured drivers, instead of police officers.

Storm Scene[]
The Storm incident contains only a single scene, which is hidden at first. This scene only appears on the map once either of the following conditions is met:
- The caller was asked for his location.
- About 450 seconds of real-time have elapsed (on SLOW game speed) from the moment the conversation began.
The scene always contains one firefighter element. Additionally, the "good" ending contains a police element, while the "bad" ending contains two medical elements.
Description[]
This scene takes place in the open, next to a fallen tree. The caller is always here as well. In certain circumstances, a second driver will also be here. Though this is the scene of a car crash (and possibly two crashes), neither car is visible.
The tree is a tech element that requires 500 Work Seconds to resolve. This is a non-trivial task for most firefighter units, though a well-equipped technical crew should be able to take care of it rather quickly.
If the caller was given proper instructions on how to warn other drivers, then he is a witness and must be questioned by police. This can only be done after the fallen tree has been resolved, making it even more important to send skilled firefighters to get that job done quickly.
If, instead, the caller's situation was dismissed as a non-emergency, both he and the driver of the other crashed car will be here as injured victims. They require quite a bit of medical assistance, but do not need transport to hospital, and are not in danger of dying on the scene. Medics do not need to wait for the fallen tree to be resolved before treating either of the two victims.
Resolution[]
The Storm incident must be reached within 1,800 seconds of real-time (on SLOW game speed) or it will automatically fail. This is a very long amount of time, equal to 3/4 of an entire Duty. There is no other timed factor on the scene to create additional urgency.
The default reputation reward for resolving this scene is +3. Telling the caller to SET THE TRIANGLE increases this to +6, but telling him to put on a REFLECTIVE JACKET first increases it to +7 instead - which is the maximum possible reward for the scene. Conversely, telling the caller to STAY IN THE CAR reduces the reward to 0; however you can still gain the original +3 points by ignoring the call (see next).
Ignoring the Call[]
- Due to what appears to be one or more mistakes in the script, the penalty for ignoring this call is set at +3 points, and is not changed by any decision you make during the conversation. This means that ignoring the call will always earn you +3 Reputation points.
- This penalty is equal to the default reward for resolving the call, so if you do make a mistake and can't reach the REFLECTIVE JACKET or SET THE TRIANGLE lines, it is actually better to ignore the call altogether.
- Alternatively, if you do not have any units to send (or wish to keep them available for other things), you can ignore the call immediately as soon as you recognize it, for those same +3 points.
