911/112 Operator Wiki

"We stopped to buy a few things, I waited inside... they were hitting dad... I locked myself inside but they've stolen the car!"

Stolen Camper is a Call Incident in 112 Operator. It is allowed to trigger only after Level-3 Calls have been unlocked (in Campaign mode, that happens on Duty #9). The call may spawn either two or five separate scenes (most of which are search areas), and ultimately requires police response and sometimes medical response. The call dialogue is completely predictable (no randomized responses from the caller).

The incident involves a young girl who was inside a camper when it was stolen by two men. The operator must guide the girl to give him as many clues as possible about the camper and its whereabouts, so that police can locate it and arrest the two men. During the course of the conversation, it is possible for the caller to become lightly injured; otherwise she must be questioned by police after they stop the camper.

For the best solution to this call, see this guide.

Opening Lines[]

Speaker Line
Operator 112, what's your emergency?
Caller Hey, I need help.

Trigger Conditions[]

The Stolen Camper incident cannot trigger before Level-3 calls have been unlocked. In a Campaign game, that happens on Duty #9.

Once this call is triggered, it will not be triggered again for the remainder of the game - except in Freeplay mode if "Repeated Calls" have been enabled.

Structure[]

The Stolen Camper incident is a Call Incident, which begins with a phone conversation with a citizen. The call is completely predictable: it contains no randomized responses from the caller, and the outcome depends entirely on choices made by the operator; the same choices will always lead to the same results.

This incident actually has 7 different scenes (!), all of which may spawn during the phone conversation: the Wide Search Area, four different Small Search Areas, and two different versions of the Stolen Camper Scene (presented in this article as a single scene, due to only minor differences between the two versions). None of these sites is visible at first.

During the initial phone conversation, it is possible to discover that the caller is in a camper, which spawns the Wide Search Area on the map. This search area is massive (144 sectors in total), but each sector is easy to search. Completing this search area reveals the Stolen Camper Scene in its first variation, in which the caller is safe and sound. It is also possible (through a specific dialog option) to slightly increase the reward for resolving this variant of the scene.

Alternatively, the caller can be instructed to peek through the door of the bathroom in which she's hiding. This spawns four separate Small Search Areas on the map, at random locations. Each Small Search Area is only 9 sectors in size, for a total size of only 36 sectors. Only one of these search areas contains the hidden Stolen Camper Scene, which will be revealed when that particular search is concluded; the other three search areas reveal nothing. In this variation of the Stolen Camper Scene, the caller is lightly injured, requiring medical treatment instead of questioning by police. Also, this variant only awards the basic Reputation value, without any modifications.

If the caller is asked for her location first, and then asked to peek out of the bathroom, the small search areas completely replace the large one. However, the caller becomes injured and the small Reputation bonus (if any) is lost.

Finally, getting the caller to provide some basic information about the model of the camper reduces the amount of work required to resolve each search sector (whether in the Wide Area or Small Areas) by 33%. This greatly speeds up the search.

If neither of the Search Areas have been located during the phone conversation before it ends, the call cannot be traced, and the entire incident must be ignored. This incurs a moderate penalty to your reputation.

Double-Search Glitch[]

The script is written in such a way that if the Wide Search Area has been already been created, spawning the Small Search Areas removes the Wide Search Area from the map. However, it does not check whether the Wide Search Area has already been resolved.

As a result, the following chain of events is possible:

  1. The Wide Search Area is spawned on the map by asking WHERE ARE YOU?
  2. The Wide Search Area is resolved while the conversation is ongoing, spawning an instance of the Stolen Camper Scene.
  3. The caller is told to PEEK THROUGH THE DOOR, which creates the Small Search Areas, leaving the existing Stolen Camper scene on the map.
  4. The Small Search Areas are resolved, spawning a second instance of the Stolen Camper Scene.

The result is two Stolen Camper scenes, both of which can be resolved separately. Note that the two scenes are different from one another, having been spawned by two different searches. One requires medical response, while the other does not.

Resolving the Wide Search Area before having to select PEEK THROUGH THE DOOR requires either extreme luck (stumbling on the exact sector containing the hidden scene, out of 144 possibilities), or a network of CCTV cameras and/or Spy Drones throughout the city that can search most (or all) sectors simultaneously.

The utility of this glitch is debatable. While it does provide two scenes instead of one (for nearly double the maximum reward possible for just one scene), it requires two large-scale searches, and sending units to resolve an extra scene.

Call Summary[]

The Stolen Camper incident begins with a young girl calling 112 to report that she is in a camper that has been stolen by thieves. The thieves apparently assaulted her father while they were stopped at a roadside shop of some sort. She was quick enough to lock herself in the bathroom, but now she can't get out without being seen.

The operator tries to get the girl to help police locate the camper. Unfortunately, she doesn't remember where she and her father had stopped when the robbery happened, and she can't see outside of the bathroom since it has no windows. She does, however, remember that it is a white, new camper with a broken backlight.

The operator thanks the caller for her bravery and instructs her to set her phone to silent mode. Emergency units spread out in the area to search for the camper, and eventually find it racing away. Police give chase, stop the camper, and arrest both men. The girl is found safe and sound, and returned to her father.

Alternative Ending[]

The operator can ask the girl to peek out of the bathroom in an attempt to determine where the camper is. Though she can't see anything through the crack in the door, she could hear noises of heavy machinery outside - perhaps a construction site. This significantly narrows the search. However, by the time units pull the camper over, the thieves have already found the little girl and manhandled her, requiring minor medical treatment.

This situation is slightly more complicated at the scene itself since it now requires (minor) medical assistance for the girl; but the search for the camper becomes significantly easier, so this solution does have its merits.

If the girl has already peeked out of the bathroom, the operator can ask her to be brave and try to peek out a little further in an attempt to see where she is, or listen in on the thieves to see if they blurt out any pertinent information. This causes the girl to be caught by the thieves. Due to the way the script is written, however, this has no negative effect whatsoever.

Wide Search Area[]

A massive Search Area and Automatic Search Site can appear on the map during the phone conversation, if the caller is asked about her location.

The Search Area is a rectangle, 12 sectors wide on each side - for a total of 144 sectors. One of these sectors (selected at random) contains the hidden incident site you're searching for.

Each sector requires only 30 seconds of Search Work to complete. This can be reduced to only 20 seconds per sector, if the caller is asked to DESCRIBE THE CAMPER. This can be done by any unit. Once the specific sector containing the hidden incident site is completely searched, the hidden incident site appears and the search is over.

If the caller is asked to PEEK THROUGH THE DOOR, the Wide Search Area is instantly removed, and replaced by the Small Search Areas.

Resolution[]

There is no time limit to complete this search.

There is no reward for completing the search itself. While there is also no penalty for ignoring it, doing so also ignores the Stolen Camper Scene, which does carry a penalty.

Once the search is completed, it reveals the Stolen Camper Scene, described below. Note that it creates a specific variant of this scene, which features an uninjured caller (thus requiring only police intervention), and can benefit from a slightly higher Reputation Reward.

Small Search Areas[]

Four Search Areas and respective Automatic Search Sites can appear on the map during the phone conversation, if the caller is asked to PEEK THROUGH THE DOOR of the bathroom. Each is placed at a random location on the map.

Each Search Area is a rectangle, 3 sectors wide on each side - for a total of 9 sectors per search area, or 36 sectors overall. One of these 36 sectors (selected at random) contains the hidden incident site you're searching for.

If the Wide Search Area already existed when these search areas were spawned on the map, the Wide Search Area is completely removed first. Any work already done on the Wide Search Area does not count towards work on the Small Search Areas.

Note that it creates a specific variant of this scene, which features an injured caller (thus requiring both police and medical response), and provides only a set Reputation Reward.

Stolen Camper Scene[]

This scene appears only once its specific search sector has been completely searched. All other search sectors, as well as the Automatic Search Site, disappear from the map.

The scene contains two police elements, and either another police element or a medical element. This depends on whether the scene was found by searching the Wide Search Area or Small Search Areas.

Chase[]

This scene begins to move as soon as it spawns. Its maximum speed is a random value between 40 and 100. Even in the worst case, it should be easy to stop with most police vehicles, but could prove too fast for Police Bicycles and Horses.

The driver has a Police Avoidance value of 1.0, meaning that he will always attempt to move away from any nearby police unit. This means that the chase will invariably require a speedy unit to overtake the car - requiring superior speed.

This incident cannot be stopped with a Speed Camera.

Resolution[]

This scene must be reached within 600 real-time seconds (on SLOW game speed) from the moment it spawned on the map, otherwise it will automatically fail.

The default Reputation reward for resolving this scene is +3. This reward can only change (positively or negatively) if the scene was located by searching the Wide Search Area, otherwise it will be exactly +3 no matter what.

If the caller was asked to DESCRIBE THE CAMPER, the reward is increased by +1. Conversely, if the caller was told to TRY HARDER, the reward is decreased by -2.

The penalty for ignoring this scene is always -3, subject to multipliers from the current difficulty setting.

Description[]

This scene takes place on the road, next to the stolen car and its towed camper. The two kidnappers are out of the car, while the caller is still inside the camper.

The two kidnappers must be always arrested by police and taken to prison. They are unarmed, and will not resist arrest.

If the caller was not asked to PEEK THROUGH THE DOOR, then she is a witness, and only requires questioning by police.

If the caller was asked to PEEK THROUGH THE DOOR, then she is injured and requires treatment by medics. However, the injuries are very minor, and the girl does not require any transport to hospital.
