911/112 Operator Wiki

Not to be confused with another, related incident named Murderer Spotted.
"What do you mean 'stop her'?! Should I just... grab her by the shoulder?"

Spotted is a Call Incident in 112 Operator. This call will not trigger on its own; it will only be triggered by the Serial Killer event, and is the final incident in that event. This call includes only one scene, which requires only police response (though medics may have to respond to the aftermath of a shootout). The call dialogue is completely predictable (no randomized responses from the caller).

The incident involves a woman at a park, calling to say that she has spotted the Crossbow Killer. The caller is instructed to keep following the suspected killer until police arrive, but remain discreet. When police arrive, the suspect pulls out a crossbow and attempts to attack the officers. They neutralize her and take her to prison (or, if she's hurt in the fight, medics treat her and take her to hospital). This bring an end to the terror she has inflicted on the city.

Trigger Conditions[]

The Spotted incident is a scripted incident; it cannot spawn unless specifically triggered by an Event.

This incident is the final incident in the Serial Killer event. It determines whether the event is successful or failed.

In Campaign mode, this incident and always happens on Duty #14.

In Freeplay games, the Serial Killer event may or may not happen at all, depending on the difficulty setting and random chance. At "Junior" difficulty, it can happen between Duties #4 and #11; while at "Middle" difficulty, it can happen between Duties #1 and #8. It cannot happen at all at higher difficulty settings. In this game mode, the Spotted incident always happens on the fourth and final Duty of the event.

There are no Scenarios that include this incident.

Structure[]

The Spotted incident is a Call Incident, which begins with a phone conversation with a citizen. The call is completely predictable: it contains no randomized responses from the caller, and the outcome depends entirely on choices made by the operator; the same choices will always lead to the same results.

This incident includes only a single scene, whose location is only revealed if the caller is asked for it. If the conversation ends without discovering the location, it will be traced within 450 real-time seconds (on SLOW game speed) from the moment the conversation started.

The conversation has several pitfalls that can severely lower your reward for resolving the scene. It can also change the nature of the scene by removing the Killer entirely (making it impossible to win the objective), or killing the caller.

Resolving the Killer element herself (either by arresting her or taking her to hospital) completes the Crossbow Killer objective. This is meaningless in a Campaign game, but in a Freeplay game it is worth 2 Career Points. This is your only chance to successfully complete the objective.

Call Summary[]

During the hunt for the Crossbow Killer, a woman calls from a local park to say that she had just spotted the Crossbow Killer.

The operator takes the caller at her word, and asks her to keep following the suspect so that police could more easily find them both. The caller is advised to keep a safe distance and remain discreet.

Police finally arrive on the scene, at which point the Crossbow Killer draws her weapon and attempts to take out the cops. They return fire and subdue her, bringing her murder spree to an end.

Alternative Ending[]

The operator can ask the caller to start screaming, alerting other people nearby to the identity of the killer in the hope that she can be stopped by the crowd. Instead, the killer manages to blend into the crowd, and disappears forever.

While this option causes failure of the Crossbow Killer objective, it does not reduce the Reputation reward for resolving the scene, and removes the risk of having to fight a dangerous criminal. In Campaign mode, this ending is preferable, since nothing is lost by failing the objective. However, in Freeplay mode, losing the killer means forfeiting 2 Career Points.

Negative Choices[]

The operator can tell the caller to grab the killer by force, trying to keep her from running before police can arrive. This leads to the caller getting shot by the killer and dying on the scene, while the killer escapes. This ending results in a massive loss of Reputation points.

112 IncidentIcon P Armed112 IncidentIcon Call Street Scene[]

The Spotted incident contains only a single scene, which is hidden at first. This scene only appears on the map once either of the following conditions is met:

  1. The caller was asked for her location.
  2. About 450 seconds of real-time have elapsed (on SLOW game speed) from the moment the conversation began.

This scene will always spawn inside a park.

By default, the scene contains two police elements and one hidden timer. However both the timer and the course of the phone conversation can alter the elements on the scene quite radically. It's advisable to keep a medical unit on stand-by.

Description[]

This scene takes place in a park. By default, both the caller and the Crossbow Killer are here, but there are multiple ways in which this situation can change.

The caller is a witness who must be questioned by police. However, if she was instructed to grab the killer, she'll be killed herself, leaving a dead body instead. The body can be processed by either police or medics - a trivial task either way.

The killer is a criminal, armed with a Crossbow. She has an Aggressiveness value of 1.0, which means that she will always attack the police. Her weapon is very slow, but incredibly dangerous, so it is advised to overwhelm her with plenty of armored officers. If she surrenders (which is highly unlikely unless riot-control weapons are involved), she must be arrested and taken to prison. If she becomes injured, she must be treated by medics and taken to hospital instead.

The killer will be removed from the scene if the caller was told either to confront her or begin screaming.

Additionally, there is a hidden timer on the scene that counts down 700 real-time seconds (on SLOW game speed) from the moment this incident spawns on the map. When it hits 0, the killer is removed from the scene. This can happen even in the middle of a firefight with the police.

Resolution[]

The Street scene has no time limit per se, but the hidden timer on the scene gives you only 700 seconds of real time (on SLOW game speed) to reach the scene, fight the killer, and remove her from the scene - otherwise she instantly disappears, making it impossible to complete the Crossbow Killer objective. While this makes no real difference during a Campaign game, letting the killer get away forfeits 2 Career Points in a Freeplay game.

The default reputation reward for resolving this scene is +16. Telling the caller to YES, GRAB HER reduces this by -10 points, and insisting GRAB HER ANYWAY reduces it by another -10 points. If both options are selected, the reward will be -4, making it impossible not to lose points from this incident.

The penalty for ignoring this scene is always -16, subject to multipliers from the current difficulty setting.
