- "I didn't want to call 112 for a cat in a tree."
Spine Injury is a Call Incident in 112 Operator. With a Call Level of 0, it is allowed to trigger on any Duty that allows random Call Incidents, including the very first Duty. It may also be triggered on the very first Duty by the Tutorial event. This call only spawns a single incident site that requires medical response (sometimes urgently). The call dialogue is completely predictable (no randomized responses from the caller).
The incident involves a man calling from his backyard, after a serious fall from a tree. After checking whether the man can move on his own, the operator sends an ambulance to treat the man and take him to a hospital.
For the best solution to this call, see this guide.
Opening Lines[]
| Speaker | Line | |
|---|---|---|
| Operator | 112, what's your emergency? | |
| Caller | Hey, uh, I need an ambulance! | |
Trigger Conditions[]
The Spine Injury incident has a Call Level of 0. This means that the call may randomly happen on any Duty - including the very first one - if the game decides to trigger a random Call Incident on that Duty.
This call also has a random chance to be picked (out of four different options) to be the very first call in a Campaign game, as part of the Tutorial event.
Once this call is triggered, it will not be triggered again for the remainder of the game - except in Freeplay mode if "Repeated Calls" have been enabled.
Structure[]
The Spine Injury incident is a Call Incident, which begins with a phone conversation with a citizen. The call is completely predictable: it contains no randomized responses from the caller, and the outcome depends entirely on choices made by the operator; the same choices will always lead to the same results.
This incident contains only a single scene, which becomes visible on the map if the caller is asked for their address. If the address hasn't been acquired during the conversation, the call can be traced instead, which takes approximately 450 real-time seconds (on SLOW game speed).
The conversation can have a huge impact on the incident scene, since it can cause the victim's health to start deteriorating (which also negatively affects your reward).
Call Summary[]
The Spine Injury incident begins with a man calling 112 to request an ambulance at his home address. He says that his cat got stuck in a tree, and he felt embarrassed to call 112 for something so trivial, and therefore decided to get the cat down himself. The cat eventually got down the tree on its own, after which the man fell out of the tree onto his back.
The operator asks the man whether he can move. When the man replies negatively, the operator instructs him to remain motionless and wait for an ambulance. The man is taken to a hospital to be treated.
Negative Choices[]
The operator can suggest that the caller try getting up. The strain of the attempt causes additional damage to his spine, and the man's medical condition begins to deteriorate immediately. The pain from the injuries causes the caller to pass out, ending the conversation.
In this case, the Reputation Reward for this incident plummets into the negative numbers.

Spine Injury Scene[]
The Spine Injury incident contains only a single scene, which is hidden at first. This scene only appears on the map once either of the following conditions is met:
- The caller was asked for his location.
- About 450 seconds of real-time have elapsed (on SLOW game speed) from the moment the conversation began.
This scene always spawns on a building. Note that some maps have buildings inside parks, or in other areas not directly connected by roads.
The scene contains one medical element.
Description[]
This scene takes place in the backyard behind the caller's house. The caller is still lying on the ground next to the tree.
By default the caller is moderately injured, and requires both treatment and a trip to the hospital - but is not in any immediate danger.
However, if the caller was told to STAND UP, then his health begins to deteriorate and he could die if not treated. The caller's health starts at 70 Hit Points, and deteriorates at a rate of -0.1 points per real-time second (on SLOW game speed) from the moment the operator finishes telling the caller to stand up. This gives medics 700 seconds to read and treat the man before he dies.
Resolution[]
This scene must be reached within 1,500 seconds of real time (on SLOW game speed) or it will automatically fail the entire incident. This is a very long time window, equal to more than half an entire Duty. However, if the phone conversation ended badly, you'll have only 700 seconds to reach the scene before the caller dies - still a long time, but much less so.
The default Reputation reward for this scene is +3. However, if the caller was told to STAND UP, the reward drops to -3. In that case, you will be penalized 3 points whether you complete the incident or ignore it - so it's usually best to just ignore it immediately.
The penalty for ignoring this incident is -3 points, subject to multipliers from the current difficulty setting.
Both the reward and penalty are adjusted negatively by -5 points if the caller happens to die before they can be treated.

After-Action Report[]
| Condition | Text |
|---|---|
| Opening Lines spoken | A man has fallen down from a tree while trying to rescue his cat. He probably broke his spine |
| STAND UP | The operator told the man to get up. The pain was so unbearable that the man fainted. It could also worsen the patient's condition |
| SENDING AMBULANCE | The operator told the man to stay on the ground so he wouldn't worsen his condition. It was the right decision to make |
