Shop Robbery is a Scripted Call Incident featured in 911 Operator. This call has a single storyline, in which a shop owner reports that his store is being attacked and looted by rioters. The call has two very different (though very difficult) "positive" endings for the operator to choose from.
This Scripted Call can only occur during the Riots in Boston, Duty 2. It will usually be the first call on that Duty.

Intro[]
This call has only a single plot, but this can lead to multiple different endings, depending solely on the operator's choices.
Nevertheless, the path to both endings begins with the same Intro sequence.
Summary[]
Following altercations between the police and the protesters, the Boston protests quickly turn into full-blown riots. As police struggle to contain the riots, a man calls 911 to report that around ten rioters have broken into his electronic appliance shop and have begun looting and destroying it. He says the same thing is happening to every shop on his street.
The operator has several ways to handle this call, leading to multiple different outcomes for the shop owner and his store. However, the riots continue to escalate, eventually leading the mayor to call in the National Guard.
Choosing an Ending[]
This plot has two endings that could be considered "worthwhile": Either telling the shop owner to arm himself and escape, or tell him to just wait for police to arrive. The ending is selected purely based on the operator's dialogue choices; no randomness is involved.
Ending | Reputation | Description | On Site |
---|---|---|---|
Escape | +10 | The shop owner is instructed to arm himself with a weapon and escape the store. | Massive fight between police and 9 protesters. |
Fire | +5 | The shop owner is instructed to stay safe and wait for the police. | Store is set ablaze with the shop owner trapped inside. |
These two endings are very different from one another, not just in Reputation award, but in what kinds of units you will need to send in order to resolve the incident. Therefore, the choice between them depends on what units you have available nearby, and how many you are willing to invest in order to get your Reputation points:
- If you have multiple armed policemen who can respond to the event - whether or not it'll take them some time to get there - choose Ending 1: Escape. Rally your units police close to the incident site, then send them all in together. This will almost certainly result in a big fight, with multiple arrests and injured people, so make sure to send police units with available transport space, and multiple ambulances (at least 3, if not more).
- If you do not have enough police units to spare for a big fight, but do have both firefighter and medical units close to the location, choose Ending 2: Fire. You won't have to send any police, and can handle the call with just a single ambulance (with room to transport one person to a hospital); but the firefighters have to get there very quickly to put out a large fire. You may need two or more firefighting units, and they must be able to respond relatively quickly.

Choices to Avoid[]
The three main choices to watch out for are CAN'T HELP YOU NOW
, TELL THEM TO GO OUT
, and PROTECT YOUR SHOP
, as all three will lock you into negative Reputation rewards.
HIDE
should also be avoided for a similar reason, though you can still back out of that option after choosing it.
Ending 1: Escape[]
This ending involves a massive fight between police and protesters. Make sure to send many armed policemen, with space to transport people to jail, as well as multiple medical units.
It is best not to send in police units piece-meal; rally them close to the site, then send in as many as you can at the same time.
Summary[]
The operator instructs the shop owner to arm himself with his pistol, and then get out of the store and run away. The shop owner does so, saving his life.
However, the rioters destroy the shop completely, and even steal a firearm. When police units arrive, the rioters are ready to fight, and will almost certainly do so. The fight is brutal, and results in many arrests and/or injuries.
On Site[]
- On arrival, units will find 9 looters still in the act of robbing and destroying the store. The caller himself has already escaped the area.
- All 9 looters must be arrested and transported to jail - though only a few (if any) will actually go.
- Each of the 9 looters has a 60% chance of starting a fight. With 9 of them present, a fight is practically inevitable. As soon as it starts, multiple other looters may join in, resulting in a massive brawl. One of the looters is armed with a pistol, so it's important to take him out as soon as possible. The rest are unarmed, though they can still hurt your officers.
- Any fighting man is likely to get injured, so it's important to send a good number of ambulances to the area to be ready to treat them and pick them up.
- Send as many police units as you can, to minimize the risk to your own officers. It may help to micromanage the fight - concentrating your men against one suspect at a time to speed up their arrest (thus reducing the chance of them fighting), and if a fight does break out, concentrate on the armed man first, then take out the suspects one by one.

Continuing from Intro...ANY WEAPON?
| ||
Operator | Do they have any weapons? | |
Caller | I don't see any guns, but some of them have bats and knives. | |
DO YOU HAVE A GUN?
| ||
Operator | And you, sir? Do you have a gun? | |
Caller | Oh, yes... I have my old .45 under the counter. I haven't used it in ages. | |
TAKE A GUN
| ||
Operator | OK, first thing you're going to do is get your 45 from behind the counter.... I hope you don't need to use it, but... just in case. And stay out of sight! | |
Caller | Okay... . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Got it! What now? | |
SNEAK OUT OF THE SHOP
| ||
Operator | Try to sneak out of the shop. If you do it carefully, they won't notice you. | Reputation set to 10. |
Caller | . . . . . . . . Yes, that's a good idea. I'll go out through the back door. I'm gonna shoot my way out if I have to. I'm really, REALLY tired of this shit. | Disable Caller. Call ended. |
Ending 2: Fire[]
This ending involves an injured man rapidly bleeding to death inside a burning building. It requires firefighter response and medical attention.
This ending is much simpler to resolve, though time is of the essence. The reward, however, is half of what you'd get for Ending 1, at only 5 Reputation points.
Summary[]
The operator tells the store owner that his safety is the most important thing. As such, he implores the store owner not to run or try to hide - just stay in his store and not interfere with the thieves.
Eventually the store is looted clean and abandoned by the looters, but as a final insult they set the store on fire, trapping the owner inside. Emergency units rescue him from the fire with serious injuries, but alive.

SHOP ROBBERY (Ending 2: Fire) | ||||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Element | Name | Actions | Notes | |||
Fire in the shop | Fire Work | 200 sec. | ||||
Shop Owner | Hit Points | 90 | Always male. Blocked by Fire in the shop. | |||
Bleeding | -1/sec |
- On arrival, units will find the shop on fire, with the owner trapped inside.
- The fire must be dealt with first. It takes 200 seconds of Fire Work to put out. This should be done as quickly as possible, preferably with two fire teams.
- The shop owner is blocked behind the fire, and cannot be treated until it's put out. Once that's done, medical teams must treat him and take him to a hospital. The man starts out with 90 Hit Points, but loses -1 every second - giving you only 90 seconds from the moment the phone call ends to put out the fire and treat him. While certainly doable, this is why you need firefighters to reach the incident site as quickly as possible; otherwise medical teams might not have enough time to treat him.
- This call only rewards you with +5 Reputation, compared to the +10 Reputation you get from Ending 1; but it is obviously much simpler to resolve, and significantly less dangerous to your officers.
