Severed Limb is a Reported Incident in 112 Operator. This rare incident requires only medical response, and has only one incident site. It can start occurring on the very first duty of any game.
The incident involves a person who has had their limb amputated by an industrial machine. Medics must rush to the site to render immediate aid before the person dies. They must also work to preserve the severed limb so that it can be reattached. The patient must be transported to a hospital after treatment.
Conditions to Spawn[]
The Severed Limb incident can spawn on any Duty in any game mode. It is a somewhat rare incident.
This incident has triple the chance to spawn in an Industrial district. It is much less likely to spawn in Park districts, and even less in Business districts. It is half as common during the night as it is during the day.
Resolution[]
The Severed Limb incident must be reached within 600 seconds of real time (on SLOW game speed) or it will automatically fail. However, you have half as much time to reach the site before the patient dies, which would have a severely negative impact on your Reputation reward; it is best to hurry.
The reputation reward for resolving this incident is +4, assuming the patient hasn't died first. Otherwise, you will be penalized -1 Reputation for resolving the incident.
The maximum possible penalty for ignoring this incident is -9, which happens if the patient dies before the incident is ignored. Otherwise, the penalty for ignoring this incident is only -4. Both cases are subject on multipliers from the current difficulty setting.
Scene Elements[]
This incident contains one scene with two separate medical elements.
Description[]
The scene takes place at an industrial site. The injured person is on the scene, as is their severed limb, which is a separate element.
The injured person's health starts at 60 hit points when the scene appears on the map, but degrades at a rate between -0.1/sec to -0.2/sec. In the worst case scenario, this gives you only 300 seconds of real time (on SLOW game speed) to reach the patient and rescue them. The patient requires medical treatment as well as transportation to hospital.
The severed limb is a separate Medical Work element, which requires 100 Work Seconds by medics. No skills or equipment increase the speed at which medics resolve this element.
Due to there being two separate elements, it may be best to send a large crew (e.g. an Ambulance) or two smaller vehicles so that they can work on both elements simultaneously, speeding up the resolution of this scene.
Ignore Penalty[]
Excluding the extra penalty for allowing the patient to die, this incident normally costs -4 Reputation points if ignored.
However, if the patient is treated and taken to hospital, you may ignore this scene for only -1 Reputation points, without securing the severed limb. Of course, since medics are already on site, and the reward for securing both the patient and limb is +4, it is rarely if ever a good idea to ignore this incident.
