Plot[]
This call has only a single plotline. The operator may actively direct the conversation towards several endings, with one being clearly superior to the others. It is outlined here.
Summary[]
A man calls 911 to report that a woman is injured after a fall. A few questions from the operator, as well as the background noise of people laughing and having fun, clearly indicate that the caller is playing a pick-up line on a woman at a bar, pretending like she literally just fell all the way from heaven and requires medical assistance.
The operator chides the man for blocking a 911 line frivolously. A police unit is sent to punish the man by fining him $1,000 for his actions.
On Site[]
- On arrival at the scene, units will find Barney Stinpson (the caller), the woman he was trying to pick up, and four of the caller's friends.
- The caller must be fined by police for $1,000.
- The woman must be questioned by police.
- The four friends are Resolved by default, and require no interaction.
Optimal Conversation[]
Choices to Avoid[]
There are no "bad" choices in this call, only time-wasters. If you did not reach I'LL SEND THE POLICE
, simply IGNORE the call to receive either 0 or 1 Reputation points.
Ignoring the Call[]
Every ending other than I'LL SEND THE POLICE
will allow you to IGNORE the call, receiving either 0 or 1 Reputation points.
However, by doing so you will forfeit a +2 Reputation point reward (see Optimal Conversation), as well as a $1,000 fine.
If you wish to just get this conversation over with as soon as possible without wasting time (e.g. if you're busy with many other incidents), simply press IGNORE as soon as the caller finishes speaking his very first line. You will receive 0 Reputation points for doing so.

Legend | NICE ONE
|
"Although the pick-up line was legendary, the operator should warn the caller about fake call's consequences, instead of congratulating him the idea." |
Good | CONSEQUENCES OF FAKE CALLS
|
"The operator discovered that caller was trying to impress the girl by calling 911. The operator warn him about consequences of fake calls." |
Trivia[]
This call is based on a scene from season 1 of television sitcom How I Met Your Mother, in which main character Barney Stinson plays this exact same pick-up line on a woman (though he didn't actually call 911 and instead used actors to portray paramedics responding to the call).
This call demonstrates what might happen if the same thing was to happen in real life, blocking a real 911 line.
The name of the caller (Barney Stinpson) and his friends (Ted Mosbay, Marshall Eriks, Robin Serbatsky and Lily Aldron) are all "expy" names for the main characters of the show, all of whom were present in the scene described above.
