The Search Vest is a type of personal armor in 112 Operator that can be worn by any crew-member. It can only be placed in the chest slot. It becomes available partway into any career, scenario, or freeplay game, and costs €2,000 to purchase as part of any gear set.
The Search Vest provides a bonus of +1.0 to the Search Skill of any crew member who wears it. This is a substantial bonus, greatly speeding up the rate at which that officer's team completes searches, including both manual search (sector-by-sector) and automatic (at the search incident site).
This bonus is cumulative with other Search bonuses, such as those provided by certain vehicles (helicopters, motorcycles, etc.). Using this vest, it is possible to create teams that can search sectors simply by moving across them; or by parking at the search incident site for just a few dozen seconds.
Of course, since this vest does not provide the wearer with any personal protection or other skill bonuses, it might not be the best choice for general-purpose teams; instead used mostly for dedicated search units.
