A Rubber Bullet Shotgun is a police officer weapon in 112 Operator. Despite being a ranged weapon, it can only be placed into the Melee Weapon slot of a police gear set, and costs €1,500 to purchase as part of that set. The Rubber Bullet Shotgun has low accuracy, a low firing rate, and a low chance of injury. However, if it doesn't injure the suspect first, it forces them to surrender after only 2 hits. In the hands of a shooter with high Accuracy skill, this weapon can resolve shootouts very quickly with a relatively low chance of injuries.

Description[]

"Shotgun shooting rubber balls instead of live ammunition. Used during a demonstration or riots."

Overview[]

The Rubber Bullet Shotgun is generally unlocked partway into a career, scenario, or freeplay game. It can only be added to a police gear set, and goes only in the Melee Weapon slot.

Despite fitting in the Melee Weapon slot, the Rubber Bullet Shotgun actually has a range of 6 meters. The officer will approach to that range unless the target does so first.

The Rubber Bullet Shotgun has a firing rate of 15, meaning that it attacks once per 15 seconds of real time (on SLOW game-speed). This is relatively slow compared to most weapons.

The weapon itself has an Accuracy rating of 50%. In other words, the chance to hit the target with each attack is equal to half the officer's own Accuracy skill. For example, an officer with 80% Accuracy has a 40% chance to hit the target with each attack of the Rubber Bullet Shotgun. This is a fairly average accuracy rating among police weapons, but the weapon's low rate of fire makes it a bit of a problem.

The Rubber Bullet Shotgun has a Damage rating of 0.17. This gives it a relatively low chance of injuring the opponent with each hit, instantly taking them out of the fight and requiring them to be treated and transported to hospital.

Furthermore, the Rubber Bullet Shotgun also provides a Pacification skill bonus of +1.0 - the maximum bonus to this skill. So long as the opponent hasn't been injured first, the Rubber Bullet Shotgun is guaranteed to pacify them in exactly two hits; the opponent surrenders immediately and requires arrest instead of treatment.

These stats generally make the Rubber Bullet Shotgun highly effective at pacification without injury, taking a rather short time to neutralize the subject; however it requires a very high Accuracy skill to achieve such effectiveness. As a result, the Rubber Bullet Shotgun is roughly equivalent to a Taser - but costs 50% more than a Taser.

Availability[]

Available in the base game of 112 Operator.
