911/112 Operator Wiki

Respiratory Problems is an Incident in the 112 Operator Pandemic Outbreak DLC that is part of the COVID event, and can spawn during any Duty of that event (though it becomes rarer as the pandemic progresses). This incident requires minor medical response, and has only one incident site.

The incident involves a woman experiencing breathing problems - a common symptom of COVID-19, though it is not initially recognized as such. Medics must respond to the site quickly, since the woman is in danger of dying. They must provide treatment and evacuate the woman to hospital.

This incident carries a risk of Coronavirus infection for anyone who comes in contact with the woman.

Conditions to Spawn[]

The Respiratory Problems incident requires the Pandemic Outbreak DLC to be installed and active. The incident will not happen during normal play, until such time that the COVID event is triggered.

Starting on the very first duty of the event (before the disease is recognized), this incident may spawn anywhere in the city. It is one of the two most common incidents to occur throughout that particular Duty, alongside Unknown Illness.

The incident will continue to spawn throughout the five Duties of the COVID outbreak, but gets progressively less and less common, relative to other incidents that might spawn. From Duty #2 of the pandemic onward, the incident's icon switches from the normal "dying patient" icon to the special "COVID infection" icon.

This incident can only spawn on a building. Note that some maps feature buildings inside parks, or other wilderness areas that have little or no road access.

Resolution[]

The Respiratory Problems incident must be reached within 1,000 seconds of real time (on SLOW game speed) or it will automatically fail. This is a fairly long time window, but note that the person on the will die after only 900 seconds, resulting in a Reputation penalty.

The reputation reward for resolving this incident is +3, so long as the person on the scene hasn't died; otherwise it is reduced to -2.

The penalty for ignoring this incident is -3 if the incident is ignored before the patient dies; Otherwise, the penalty is increased to -8. Both cases are subjected to multipliers from the current difficulty setting.

Scene Elements[]

This incident contains one scene with a single medical element.

Description[]

The scene takes place at the patient's house. The patient is inside, still struggling to breathe.

The patient's health starts at 90 Hit Points when the incident first spawns on the man, but decreases at a rate of -0.1 with every real-time second that passes (on SLOW game speed). This gives you 900 real-time seconds to both reach the scene and treat the patient before they die. The patient must be evacuated to a hospital afterwards.

COVID Infection[]

Whenever an emergency worker "targets" the patient for interaction - even if they don't get the chance to come near the patient - a check is made to see if they have contracted COVID. The risk is 30% by default, but is altered by various factors including the current progress of the pandemic and the equipment worn by the emergency worker.

Note that this check can be triggered multiple times during the same scene, such as when the worker switches to another element and then switches back to the infectious element, which can happen for a variety of reasons. Each worker has to pass the check independently of any other workers who might target the infected element.

Any emergency worker who contracts COVID will be put into quarantine for several Duties.
