The Quad is the smallest and cheapest land-based fire-fighting vehicle in 112 Operator. Carrying only two team-members and a small amount of water, the Quad is best suited for responding to small incidents, and may have trouble solving any fire-based incidents on its own. However, it is rather fast in both offroad conditions and heavy traffic, and can actually be very cost-effective when deployed in large numbers.

The Quad is completely disabled during heavy snow or rain.

Description[]

"It's small but good for offroad actions."

Overview[]

The Quad is the smallest and cheapest available land-based firefighting vehicle. It is typically unlocked together with the Police Motorcycle and Medical Response Motorcycle, a few days into any career, scenario, or freeplay game.

The primary advantage of the Quad is its cost. At €20,000 per unit (not including crew), it is the cheapest fire-fighting vehicle in the game - only 1/4 the cost of a Fire Truck, and less than 1/2 as much as a Brush Truck. This allows you to purchase multiple Quads to cover a larger area of the map, and provide fast response to incidents no matter where they spawn.

Additionally, the Quad is a relatively fast vehicle. On roads, it is just as fast as a Fire Truck, but offroad it can still reach a top speed of 80, which is 33% faster than a Fire Truck. It is also better at negotiating traffic than a Fire Truck. This makes it good for both inner-city and park duties, where it can reach an incident faster than most land-based fire vehicles.

The main downside of the Quad is its size, carrying only 2 firefighters, and providing them with no skill bonuses. However, a Brush Truck - costing more than twice as much - carries only twice as many firefighters and does not provide any bonuses either, making the Quad very cost effective by comparison. Two Quads replacing a single Brush Truck offer great versatility: You can send either one or both Quads to an incident depending on its severity.

Another important downside is the Quad's low water capacity of 1.0 - the same as a single Brush Truck. Again, with two Quads costing less than one Brush Truck, but together carrying as much water (and as many firefighters) as a Technical Truck, they are still highly cost effective. Two Quads operating together have enough water to resolve a medium-sized house fire if they can get there fast enough, or contribute substantially to the efforts of any third unit.

Yet another disadvantage of a Quad is that it requires two drivers, meaning that the effective Driving Skill used to calculate its top speed is the average skill of both drivers; to achieve its top speed of 100, it requires both officers to have 100% Driving Skill.

Finally, Quads are completely disabled whenever it rains at level 8 or above, or when it snows at level 5 or above. This could disable your entire fleet of quads, if you rely on them too heavily. Keep this in mind when considering replacing your heavier vehicles with Quads for cost-cutting purposes.
