The Police Motorcycle is one of the smaller, cheaper and faster land-based police vehicles in 112 Operator. With a top speed of 180, it can reach incidents faster than a Patrol Car, but cannot carry any arrested criminals away. It is perfect in the early game for handling various minor incidents that do not require arrest, and especially fast-moving incidents that must be chased down. It can also quickly respond to render assistance to other units within a large area of control. Its cheap cost keeps it competitive with the Unmarked Police Car later in the game, despite lacking passenger space.
The Police Motorcycle is completely disabled during heavy snow or rain.
Description[]
"A police motorcycle. Fast and cheap, efficient in traffic jams, but can't carry passengers/injured."
Overview[]
The Police Motorcycle is typically unlocked together with the Medical Response Motorcycle and Quad, a few days into any career, scenario, or freeplay game.
The Police Motorcycle can achieve a top speed of 180, making it one of the fastest land vehicles in the game; though there are several police vehicles that are even faster. Furthermore, it suffers only 50% the normal speed penalty when moving through traffic, compared to most other vehicles. Police Motorcycles are also very good at chasing criminals down, being able to stop even a fast-moving incident within just a couple of seconds at the most.
The Police Motorcycle is very competitive from a financial standpoint, costing only €20,000 apiece compared to a €50,000 Patrol Car. This low cost keeps it relevant even later on, when it is mostly outclassed by the Unmarked Police Car which costs a whopping €75,000 - almost as much as four Motorcycles. Another late-game vehicle, the Police Pursuit Car - effectively a Police Motorcycle on steroids - costs €180,000 (equivalent to 9 Motorcycles)!
The Police Motorcycle carries 2 officers, both of whom are considered drivers; the vehicle's final Driving Skill is the average of both of their driving skills. With a top speed of 180, every point counts, so it's important to pick two highly-skilled drivers for this job.
Police Motorcycles cannot carry any arrested criminals to jail. As a result, they are more suited for dealing with incidents that do not require any arrest, such as questioning eyewitnesses or handing out fines. Such incidents are fairly common, so having just a few Motorcycles spread out across the city can significantly ease the workload of other police units. In addition to resolving incidents on their own, Police Motorcycles can also be dispatched as backup to other police units, e.g. in preparation for a shootout; but note that a vehicle armor rating of only 0.2 gives very little protection to the officers themselves.
Police Motorcycles are also very good for conducting sector-by-sector manual searches, thanks to their high Acceleration value of 7 - allowing them to hop around quickly. However, note that about half of all police search incidents end up with someone getting arrested, so the Motorcycle might require assistance from another unit once the perpetrator is found.
Finally, Police Motorcycles are completely disabled whenever it rains at level 8 or above, or when it snows at level 5 or above.
