The Patrol Boat is a police water vehicle that was added with the 112 Operator Water Operations DLC. Carrying 3 officers and boasting the highest speed among police water vehicles, the Patrol Boat serves as the primary police unit for water districts. It can resolve most incidents on its own, respond to incidents quickly, and transport up to 2 prisoners back to harbor, making it very self-sufficient. Two or more Patrol Boats responding to a major incident can bring a lot of firepower, and the Patrol Boat even provides a modicum of protection to its officers during shootouts.

Description[]

"High-speed motor boat used by the police. Capable of transporting 2 suspects."

Overview[]

The Patrol Boat is the "mainstay" police boat added to the game by the Water Operations DLC. It will typically be unlocked a few days into a career, scenario or freeplay game, or as soon as a water district becomes unlocked - whichever comes later.

Despite a price tag of only €55,000, the Patrol Boat has a number of advantages that make it a good vehicle for resolving incidents on the water. The first of these is its top speed of 160, making it the fastest of all police water vehicles by a good margin. It is capable of reaching incidents very quickly, even across large bodies of water, whether to resolve incidents on its own or provide assistance to other units.

The Patrol Boat carries a total of 3 officers, making it fairly formidable in a fight, and allowing it to resolve complicated incidents (such as food poisoning) much more quickly than a single Police Jet Ski or Police Dinghy. It also has an Armor rating of 0.2, givings its officers a modicum of protection during shootouts. Thanks to their high speed, Patrol Boats can quickly congregate in an area to assault a major shootout incident together, bringing a lot of firepower to the scene all at once.

The Patrol Boat can carry 2 arrested persons to jail, which is twice as much as a Police Dinghy. It's highly unlikely to need more than two Patrol Boats to clear an incident out, but even one boat can do so fairly rapidly if the harbor isn't too far away.

With so many advantages, there is little reason not to rely on Patrol Boats as your primary police unit for water districts - if not the only unit (money permitting, of course).
