The Medical Dinghy is a medical boat that was added with the 112 Operator Water Operations DLC. It is the smallest and cheapest water vehicle capable of carrying an injured person to hospital, but pays for this ability with a low speed for a water vehicle. It carries 2 medics and provides no skill bonuses. While a cheaper alternative to the Water Ambulance, the Medical Dinghy's usefulness is limited to minor incidents and support for other boats.

Overview[]
The Medical Dinghy is the smallest, cheapest, and slowest medical boat capable of carrying injured persons. It is only added to the game by the Water Operations DLC. The Medical Dinghy will typically be unlocked as soon as the first water district comes under your direct control - sometimes right at the start of a career, scenario or freeplay game.
The Medical Dinghy's only real advantage is its price. At only €39,000, it costs two thirds as much as the next larger medical boat - the Water Ambulance. However, the low price comes with several important disadvantages compared to the Water Ambulance: A low passenger capacity, very low speed for a water vehicle, and no skill bonuses to its crew members. These disadvantages are quite substantial, putting the utility of the Medical Dinghy in question.
Like all other medical water vehicles, the Medical Dinghy carries 2 medics. It does not, however, provide them with any skill bonuses, making it comparable to a Medical Jet Ski in effectiveness when resolving incidents. However, unlike the Jet Ski, it can carry a single injured passenger to hospital, allowing it to resolve more serious medical incidents on its own, or pitch in when multiple boats are evacuating large numbers of casualties from a major incident.
The other serious disadvantage of the Medical Dinghy is its speed. It moves at a top speed of only 115, making it 25% slower than the Water Ambulance and Medical Jet Ski, and in fact one of the slowest water vehicles available. It cannot be expected to cover a large body of water on its own. Instead, the Medical Dinghy is useful in river junctions with a local harbor, so it doesn't have to go very far.
Overall, Medical Dinghies do not seem to justify their reduced cost; but can be a cheaper alternative to a Water Ambulance until more funds become available, or be used to cover small bodies of water that are too small to require a Water Ambulance.
