- For the land-based version available in the base game, see Kidnapping.
Kidnapping is a Reported Incident in 112 Operator. There are two incidents with the same name in the game; this article discusses only the water-based version which requires the Water Operations DLC.
This rare incident requires only police response (injuries during the shootout may change this), and is somewhat dangerous. It can only spawn once Stage-3 incidents have been unlocked (in Campaign mode, this happens on Duty #9). It has only one incident site, which requires a chase.
The incident involves two criminals who have kidnapped a person in their boat. Police must chase the boat to a stop, then confront the criminals and arrest them. They are armed, and are likely to start a fight, so medical units may need to intervene as well. The arrested criminals must be taken to prison.
The kidnap victim requires no interaction.
Conditions to Spawn[]
The Kidnapping incident can only spawn once level 3 incidents have been unlocked. This happens on Duty #9 in Campaign mode. It is normally a rare incident compared to other water incidents.
This incident may only spawn in a Water district. If the player does not control any water districts, the incident cannot spawn. This incident will always spawn some distance away from the shoreline, sometimes even far into the ocean. It cannot occur in narrow rivers or canals.
During nighttime, this incident is twice as common as it is during daytime.
Resolution[]
The Kidnapping incident must be reached within 1,000 seconds of real time (on SLOW game speed) or it will automatically fail. This gives you plenty of time to organize a substantial police response.
The reputation reward for resolving this incident is +6.
The penalty for ignoring this incident is -6, subject to multipliers from the current difficulty setting.
Scene Elements[]
This incident contains one scene with two police elements to resolve. However, since a fight is likely to occur, medical units may need to be on stand-by to respond as well.
Chase[]
This scene begins to move as soon as it spawns. Its maximum speed is 50, which is slow enough that any police boat should be able to catch it.
Description[]
The scene takes place in open water, next to the stopped motorboat. The two kidnappers are inside, together with the kidnap victim.
The kidnappers are both armed, with either a handgun or a knife. Each has a high likelihood of starting a fight with the police, and since two kidnappers are present, a confrontation is very likely indeed. Expect a shootout, which could end with one or more injuries, requiring medics to respond to the scene. Any criminal who isn't injured needs to be arrested and taken to prison.
The kidnap victim is a "decorative" element, and is considered resolved by default - it requires no interaction whatsoever.
