The Hydrobank is a land-based vehicle in the 112 Operator Facilities DLC. Practically useless for actual firefighting, the Hydrobank's primary function is to serve as a mobile Water Refill Point. It can deploy anywhere it can get to, creating a Water Refill Point that works the same as a regular fire station, allowing other firefighting units to fill their water tanks there. This Water Refill Point remains where it is until the end of the duty, at which point it reverts into a Hydrobank.

Description[]

"Fire truck supporting other units. After set up, it is adapted to unlimited water topping up in vehicles connected to it. After unfolding, he remains in his position until the end of his duty."

Overview[]

The Hydrobank is a unique land-based fire-fighting vehicle added by the Facilities DLC. It is unlocked for use only a handful of duties after the start of a career, scenario, or freeplay game, usually together with the Field Hospital and Mobile Police Station.

Although the Hydrobank does carry a single firefighter, and can be sent to resolve fire and technical incidents (very slowly), this is not the vehicle's actual purpose. Instead, the purpose of the Hydrobank is to create a new, temporary Water Refill Point anywhere on the map, in order to assist other units in refilling their water tanks while handling incidents nearby.

Once the Hydrobank is driven into the desired position, a button in the vehicle's info tab (lower left corner of the screen) can be clicked to DEPLOY the vehicle at that position. The Hydrobank instantly disappears, replaced by a small box that counts up to 100% over the course of a few seconds. Once it reaches 100%, it is replaced by a Water Refill Point that functions the same as any permanent fire station. Any number of firefighting vehicles with water tanks can visit this location to refill as much water as they need. This temporary refill point remains at its location until the end of the duty, and is then transformed back into a regular Hydrobank vehicle. There is no way to "undeploy" the temporary refill point manually.

Hydrobanks are very useful for Major Fire calls, which tend to happen in the middle of parks, away from any permanent Water Refill Point on the map. Simply park the Hydrobank nearby, deploy it, and then the units fighting the fire do not have to drive a long distance to refill their tanks.

Naturally, the Hydrobank is a substitute for placing a stationary Water Intake Point facility. Though it is far more expensive - costing €80,000 compared to just €25,000 for a stationary point - it can be moved to a new place on each duty, whereas a stationary Water Intake Point cannot. Depending on the map's layout, this could either be an important ability or completely useless.

In terms of driving properties, the Hydrobank moves at a mediocre speed of 90, which is almost as fast as a Fire Truck. It loses almost none of its speed when going offroad, either.

Note: Although the Hydrobank theoretically carries an infinite amount of water, and has a water bar visible on its On-Site icon, it cannot actually use any of that water itself if sent to put out a fire in a non-urbanized area.
