Hidden Antique is an Event in 112 Operator. It triggers on Duty #5 of a Campaign Game, and may occur in the early parts of a Freeplay game on "Junior" or "Middle" difficulty. It never occurs in any Scenario game.
In this event, Interpol contacts the Emergency Management Center to report that a priceless Faberge egg has been stolen. The operator is instructed to help recover it if the opportunity arises.
The event is 3 or 4 Duties long. It adds a hidden Objective to track the player's progress. It spawns two incidents, one of which determines whether the event is completed successfully. Fulfilling the objective rewards the player with €10,000.
Effects[]
This event runs for a total of 3 or 4 Duties, depending on game mode. It adds a hidden Objective that must be fulfilled by the end of the final Duty to win a reward. It spawns a specific Reported Incident on its first or second Duty, and a specific Call Incident on the third.
Objective[]
The Missing Antique objective is created as soon as this event begins. It is not visible in the player's Objectives list.
This objective waits for one of two things to happen:
- The Missing Treasure Call Incident is successfully completed, or...
- The end of the event is reached.
In the first case, the objective is successfully completed, rewarding the player with €10,000.
In the second case, the objective fails, with no particular penalties.
Reported Incident[]
On the event's first or second Duty (depending on game mode), a Missing Antique Reported Incident will always occur halfway through the Duty. In this incident, a Faberge egg is located, but turns out to be fake.
The outcome of this incident does not have any bearing on the outcome of the event.
Call Incident[]
On the event's third Duty, a Missing Treasure Call Incident will always occur, usually within a few minutes (on the in-game clock) from the halfway point of the Duty.
The Missing Treasure call is the key to successfully completing the entire event. If the incident is resolved successfully (recovering the real Faberge egg), it triggers the Objective's victory condition and ends the event immediately.
Game Types[]
This event has different trigger conditions and/or effects depending on the type of game being played.
Campaign Game[]
In a Campaign game, the Hidden Antique event always begins on Duty #5, and ends on Duty #8.
- The Missing Antique incident always happens at the halfway point of Duty #6.
- The Missing Treasure call always happens around the halfway point of Duty #7.
The event will end (successfully) on Duty #7 instead of Duty #8 if the Missing Treasure call is properly resolved.
The Pandemic Outbreak DLC does not change the timing or behavior of this event.
Freeplay Game[]
In a Freeplay game, the Hidden Antique event may only occur at the "Junior" or "Middle" difficulty levels. At "Junior" difficulty, it may trigger between Duties #4 and #11. At "Middle" difficulty, it may trigger between Duties #1 and #9. It will never trigger at higher difficulty levels.
In all cases, the event will run for only 3 Duties (though, should the Objective fail, it uses a scripting trick to send an e-mail at the start of what would be its fifth duty).
In a Freeplay game, the Missing Antique incident always happens on the very first Duty of the event (the same Duty in which the Event Start e-mail is received). The Missing Treasure call, however, still occurs two whole Duties after that, just as it does in a Campaign game.
There is no guarantee that this event will spawn at all during a given Freeplay game.
The Hidden Antique event cannot be switched off when starting a new Freeplay game.
This event is flagged as "lonely", which means that no other event may begin while this event is in progress; and this event will never begin while another event is in progress. Note, again, that the event is exactly 3 Duties long in Freeplay mode.
Once the event has concluded, it will not occur again for the remainder of that Freeplay game.
Scenario Game[]
There are currently no official Scenarios in which this event will occur.
E-Mails[]
Event Start[]
On the duty in which this event begins, the following e-mail is received by the player:
| From: | Interpol |
|---|---|
| Subject: | Interpol Communication - Stolen Piece of Art |
| Pieces of art were stolen while being transported. Among the missing exhibits is the famous Faberge egg. Please pay special attention to all the information about the pieces of art sought. | |
Event Success[]
If the Missing Antique objective has been successfully completed by the end of the event, the operator receives the following e-mail at the start of the next Duty:
| From: | <boss's full name> <boss's address>@alarm.gov
|
|---|---|
| Subject: | Faberge egg |
| I don't know how you did it, but with your help the lost antique was found. I received a lot of positive feedback about our Emergency Management Center from external observators. We will keep that in mind when your promotion will be considered. Congratulations. <boss's full name>Emergency Management Center Manager | |
Event Failure[]
If the event runs its course without successfully completing the Missing Antique objective, the operator receives the following e-mail four duties after the event started:
| From: | <boss's full name> <boss's address>@alarm.gov
|
|---|---|
| Subject: | Faberge egg |
I don't know how you achieved that... You had a chance to go down in history, but you were too busy picking your nose rather than doing your job. I don't have a better explanation for your actions.<boss's full name>Emergency Management Center Manager | |
