The Helitack is the only airborne fire-fighting vehicle in 112 Operator. Extremely fast over long distances and capable of operating in any terrain, the Helitack is a powerful but expensive tool. Though carrying only 2 team members, it gives them both a strong bonus to firefighting - especially when putting out fires in tall buildings - as well as a bonus to Search speed. It also carries ample water.
Other than its high cost, the Helitack's only real drawback is an inability to operate in strong winds.
Description[]
"A special helicopter for firefighting purposes. Enables quick intervention in hardly accessible areas."
Overview[]
The Helitack is one of the most powerful - and most expensive - fire-fighting units in the game. As a helicopter, the Helitack can fly to any point on the map in a straight line, no matter where it is. Over long distances, it can achieve a top speed approaching 250 - which is 2.5 times as fast as a Fire Truck. It can reach and handle incidents both on land and water.
The Helitack carries only two team members. Since the vehicle has such a high speed, it's important to select one crew member with the highest Driving Skill available; every single point counts!
With only two members and no bonus to Technical Work speed, this vehicle is significantly less effective at resolving technical incidents compared to the much-cheaper Technical Truck or even Brush Truck; but it might be able to get to the incident site much faster than any other unit, especially when the incident is particularly remote. This could be very useful for "urgent" technical incidents (such as fire alarms), or incidents where other units must wait for a technical team to resolve an On-Site element before they can do anything else (such as accidents). The Helitack also completely ignores Traffic.
Helitacks are best suited for fighting fires. They carry 5 units of water - half as much as a regular Fire Truck - enabling them to deal with most medium and even large fires (especially in urbanized areas, where they can draw water directly from a hydrant). The Helitack also provides each crew-member with +0.75 to their Extinguish Fire skill, making them significantly more effective at this task. Furthermore, if the fire occurs in a tall building, each crew member receives an additional +1.0 Extinguish Fire skill for that particular incident. Helitacks can also be invaluable when fighting Major Fires, which often occur in park areas where other units could struggle to move around; the Helitack can quickly fly off to refill its tanks, even if the nearest water source is some distance away.
Like all other helicopters in the game, Helitacks are also very good at performing Searches. They provide each crewmembers with a +0.5 bonus to their Search Skills. Note that the Helitack doesn't accelerate very quickly, making it more suitable for an automated Search (send it directly to the search incident site) than for manually searching one sector at a time.
Other than the exorbitant purchase cost of €200,000 (as much as 2.5 regular Fire Trucks), the Helitack's only real downside is its inability to fly whenever the wind speed exceeds Level 14. For this reason, it is not a good idea to rely solely on a fleet of Helitacks, despite their exceptional utility.
