The Heavy Fire Suit is a firefighter personal armor in 112 Operator that can only be placed in the chest slot. It becomes available partway into any career, scenario, or freeplay game. The Heavy Fire Suit costs €4,000 to purchase as part of a gear set for firefighters.
The most important bonus provided by a Heavy Fire Suit is +0.8 Fire Resistance. This makes the firefighter very unlikely to suffer any injuries while putting out any type or size of fires. Though the protection is not perfect, it is far better than leaving the firefighter unprotected, and substantially better than even the basic Fire Suit.
Additionally, the Heavy Fire Suit provides a +0.5 Explosion Resistance bonus. If the firefighter happens to be at an incident containing a bomb, and that bomb happens to explode, the firefighter has a 50% chance to survive the explosion uninjured. This is a fairly rare case, since most (all?) bomb incidents do not require firefighter presence, but it's better than nothing.
Finally, with the Pandemic Outbreak DLC installed, the Heavy Fire Suit has the additional benefit of protecting the firefighter from COVID infection when interacting with any scene element during the outbreak (especially when helping injured people). It gives a +0.4 Anti-Infection Protection bonus, which should reduce the chance of getting infected by 40% each time the game checks whether the firefighter should be infected. This is cumulative with the bonus for a Protective Mask. Not perfect, but much better than nothing.
The downside for all these benefits is a hefty price-tag of €4,000, which is more than 2.5 times higher than a regular Fire Suit. As such, it is best to reserve the Heavy Fire Suit for firefighters whose main job is to put out fires, such as those riding in Fire Trucks, Aerial Ladder Trucks, Water Tenders, and so on. It also comes in handy during the COVID outbreak, if you can afford it at the time.
Description[]
"An advanced suit designed to protect from high temperatures, smoke and toxic fumes."
Portrait Glitch[]
The Heavy Fire Suit alters the appearance of the firefighter's portrait, giving them a large gas mask. Due to a bug in the current version of the game (2nd Anniversary), the Heavy Fire Suit may become a permanent part of the officer's default portrait (when not wearing any other portrait-altering clothes). This can only be fixed by manually editing the save file.
Availability[]
Available in the base game of 112 Operator.
