911/112 Operator Wiki

"GET THE FINGERS! Oh my God, there's blood everywhere! I gotta-..."

Firecracker Accident is a Call Incident in 112 Operator. This call will not trigger on its own; it will only be triggered by the New Year's Eve event. This call includes only one scene, which requires fast medical response. The call dialogue is completely predictable (no randomized responses from the caller).

The incident involves a young man calling to report that his friend had just blown his fingers off with a firecracker. The operator calms the man down, and instructs him on how to give first aid to his injured friend while an ambulance makes its way to the scene. Correct instructions may help save the victim's life. Medics must then treat the victim and take him to a hospital.

For the best solution to this call, see this guide.

Trigger Conditions[]

The Firecracker Accident incident is a scripted incident; it cannot spawn unless specifically triggered by an Event.

In Campaign mode, this incident will only be triggered during the New Year's Eve duty. This always happens on Duty #25 or 29, depending on whether or not the Pandemic Outbreak DLC is installed. It is always the first Call Incident to occur on that duty.

Since New Year's Eve does not occur in Freeplay or Scenario games, the Firecracker Accident incident will never occur in those game modes.

Structure[]

The Firecracker Accident incident is a Call Incident, which begins with a phone conversation with a citizen. The call is completely predictable: it contains no randomized responses from the caller, and the outcome depends entirely on choices made by the operator; the same choices will always lead to the same results.

This incident includes only a single scene, whose location will only be revealed if the caller is asked for their address; and can otherwise be traced.

The only effect of the phone conversation on the behavior of this incident is to change the speed at which the victim is bleeding out - changing the amount of time you have to reach him before he dies.

Call Summary[]

The Firecracker Accident incident occurs on New Year's Eve. A young man calls 112 in a panic, reporting that his friend had just blown his fingers off with a poorly-handled firecracker.

The operator immediately dispatches an ambulance to the scene. While the ambulance makes its way there, the operator instructs the caller to raise the victim's arm and bandage it with a first-aid kit or even a shirt. When the bleeding is taken care of, the operator then tells the caller to look for the fingers and double-bag them with a layer of ice between the bags.

Sub-optimal Endings[]

The operator could instruct the caller to squeeze the victim's wrist with a belt, cutting off blood-flow to the hand - which is not helpful for this particular type of injury.

Much worse, however, the operator could instruct the caller to try to reattach the fingers to the victim's hand. The caller tries to comply, but the blood and gore causes him to pass out.

This scene only appears on the map once either of the following conditions is met:

  1. The caller is asked his location. This will eventually be asked automatically by the operator, since it is necessary in order to advance the conversation beyond the intro stage.
  2. About 450 seconds of real-time have elapsed (on SLOW game speed) from the moment the conversation began.

The scene contains only a single medical element. There are also three "decorative" elements, which require no interaction whatsoever.

This scene will always spawn on a road.

Description[]

This scene takes place in the street, where signs of the firecracker explosion are visible. The victim of the explosion is here, as well as the caller and two other young men.

The victim's health starts at 75 Hit Points when the phone conversation begins, but immediately begins to deteriorate at a rate of -0.5 per real-time second (on SLOW game speed, which is enforced while the conversation is in progress). This gives you only 150 seconds to reach him, which is a very short time.

However, there are several dialog choices in the conversation (including the wrong choices!) that will either reduce the bleeding rate to -0.2/s or completely eliminate it. At -0.2/s, you have closer to 300 seconds to reach the victim. It's very important to hit at least one of them as soon as possible, to maximize the amount of time you get.

Once medics arrive, they must provide treatment and take the victim to a hospital.

The victim's friends, including the caller, are purely decorative on the scene; they require no interaction from any emergency units.

Resolution[]

There is no time limit to reach this scene, but as stated above, the victim is dying very rapidly by default. This will eventually be mitigated, either somewhat or completely, by hitting specific dialog choices. However, a bad dialog choice still leaves you with no more than 350 seconds to get to the victim before they bleed out and die.

The default reputation reward for resolving this scene is +5. This is increased to +8 by giving the caller the correct advice, BANDAGE THE HAND. However, it drops by 1 point if advising the caller to TRY REATTACHING THEM.

The default penalty for ignoring this scene is -5, subject to multipliers from the current difficulty setting. However, this gets set to -3 as soon as the caller finishes speaking their first line of the conversation.

Both the reward and penalty are adjusted by -5 points if the victim is allowed to die on the scene.
