911/112 Operator Wiki

"We're at a party. He was supposed to drive, but well… he started drinking."

Drunk Driving Attempt is a Call Incident in 112 Operator. With a Call Level of 0, it is allowed to trigger on any Duty that allows random Call Incidents, including the very first Duty. This call may spawn either one or two scenes, depending on the outcome of the phone conversation: by default, only one scene is spawned, requiring a basic police response (if at all); but if the call handled poorly, a second scene is spawned that requires medical response. The call dialogue is completely predictable (no randomized responses from the caller).

The incident involves a woman calling from a party, saying that her drunk friend is planning to drive. She asks the operator what to do. In the optimal scenario, the operator simply tells her to call the friend a taxi, resolving the situation without any emergency intervention.

If the operator makes a mistake, police may have to intervene and warn the man not to drive. If the operator and caller fail to stop the man from driving, he will quickly get into a serious accident with another car, requiring medical response for both himself and another driver.

For the best solution to this call, see this guide.

Trigger Conditions[]

The Drunk Driving Attempt incident has a Call Level of 0. This means that the call may randomly happen on any Duty - including the very first one - if the game decides to trigger a random Call Incident on that Duty.

Once this call is triggered, it will not be triggered again for the remainder of the game - except in Freeplay mode if "Repeated Calls" have been enabled.

Structure[]

The Drunk Driving Attempt incident is a Call Incident, which begins with a phone conversation with a citizen. The call is completely predictable: it contains no randomized responses from the caller, and the outcome depends entirely on choices made by the operator; the same choices will always lead to the same results.

This incident contains two different scenes: the Party Scene and the Drunk Man Crushed a Car Scene [sic].

The first scene's location can be discovered by simply asking the caller for the address, or by tracing the call.

The second scene will only spawn if the operator makes a serious mistake during the phone conversation - letting the drunk man go - which causes a car accident. In the second case, the driver is removed from the Party scene, but police still need to go to the party to speak with the caller.

In the best case scenario, however, the operator tells the caller to simply call a taxi for her friend so he doesn't have to drive. In this case, the entire incident can be summarily ignored for the maximum reward points, without having to send any unit to any scene - nor even discovering the location of either scene.

Call Summary[]

The Drunk Driving Attempt incident begins with a woman calling 112 to report that her friend is planning to drive while drunk. She says they had gone to a party together, and he was the "designated driver", but for some reason he began drinking anyway. She's tried talking to him, and taking his keys away, but neither attempt succeeded.

The operator advises the woman to call a taxi for her friend. She's surprised, since the idea had never occurred to her, but agrees to do so. The operator marks the call down as resolved.

Negative Choices[]

The operator can get the woman to distract her friend by any means necessary, while police make their way to the scene. Police give the man a stern talking-to, and ensure that he can't drive his car that night. This wastes police time and effort, but keeps a dangerous man off the road.

Alternatively, the operator can instruct the caller to just let the man go, since it is his responsibility not to drive. In this case, the man gets into his car and drives off. Shortly afterwards, the man has a car accident in which he plows into another car, injuring both himself and another driver.

112 IncidentIcon P112 IncidentIcon Call Party Scene[]

This scene only appears on the map once either of the following conditions is met:

  1. The caller was asked for her location.
  2. About 450 seconds of real-time have elapsed (on SLOW game speed) from the moment the conversation began.

The scene contains either one or two police elements, depending on the outcome of the phone conversation.

Description[]

This scene takes place at a house. The caller is waiting inside. If the drunk friend is still here, he'll be inside with her.

Both the caller and her friend must be questioned by police. Each takes a bit less than the normal amount of questioning work.

If the caller was instructed to let her friend go, he will not appear on the scene - but the scene still needs to be resolved.

Resolution[]

Despite the implied urgency, there is no time limit to reach this scene.

The default reputation reward for resolving this scene is +2.

The default penalty for ignoring this scene is -3, subject to multipliers from the current difficulty setting.

If the caller is instructed to CALL HIM A TAXI, both the reward and penalty are raised to +3. This means that you can ignore the call without sending any units, and still receive more than the "default" reward.

By contrast, if the caller is instructed to LEAVE HIM BE, and then told to JUST DO IT when she voices her concerns, the Reputation Reward for resolving this scene drops to 0. However, the Ignore Penalty remains at -3, so police still need to be send to resolve this scene.
