Dead Car Battery is a Reported Incident in 112 Operator. A rare incident, it has only one scene which requires only firefighter response. This incident can spawn at any stage of the game, including the very first Duty.

The incident involves a car that has run out of battery power in the middle of the road, creating a traffic jam. Firefighters must reach the scene and jump-start the car's engine to get it moving and clear the jam - a very trivial task.

Conditions to Spawn[]

The Dead Car Battery incident can spawn at any stage of the game, from the very first Duty onward. This is true for all game modes. NEvertheless, it is a rare incident.

This incident has an equal chance of spawning in any type of district. However, it may only spawn on a road.

With The Last Duty DLC, this incident is much more likely to spawn during the Criminal phase, but once the Infected appear it may no longer spawn at all.

Resolution[]

The Dead Car Battery incident must be reached within 500 seconds of real time (on SLOW game speed) or it will automatically fail. This is enough to make the incident "urgent", though it is still quite a bit of time. Practically any nearby unit sent to the scene can resolve it rather quickly - including even medical or police units.

The reputation reward for resolving this incident is +1.

The penalty for ignoring this incident is -1, depending on multipliers from the current difficulty setting.

Scene Elements[]

The Dead Car Battery incident contains one scene with only a single firefighter element.

Traffic Jam[]

As soon as this scene is created, it begins to generate a Traffic Jam that will expand at a rate of 0.5 along every connecting street. This is exactly half the maximum rate.

The Traffic Jam will slow down all ground-based units attempting to travel through it. Smaller vehicles move faster through Traffic Jams, and airborne vehicles ignore them completely.

As soon as the scene is resolved, the Traffic Jam will begin to clear, from the center outwards.

Description[]

The scene occurs out in the open, where the driver waits next to their dead car. The car's battery is the tech element to be resolved; the driver is purely decorative, and requires no interaction whatsoever.

The car battery takes only 100 Work Seconds to resolve. A large, well-equipped, and/or experienced technical unit (e.g. a Technical Truck) can finish this job near-instantly. Essentially, it's better to just send the nearest unit, rather than have specialists drive halfway across the map for this incident. In fact, even a small police or medical team might be able to resolve this incident without too much effort!
