Bus Collision is a Reported Incident in 112 Operator. This rare incident requires firefighter, medical and police response, and has only one incident site. It can only occur once stage 3 of the game unlocks (in Campaign mode, this happens on Duty #9).

The incident involves a collision between a private car and a public bus. The two vehicles are blocking the road, creating a small traffic jam. Police must arrive on the scene to fine both drivers, while firefighters remove the vehicles to allow traffic to resume.

Additionally, there may be up to 5 injured bus passengers on the scene. The passengers have suffered only light injuries, and can be treated on-site by medical teams, without transportation to a hospital.

Overall, this is a complicated scene that takes some time to resolve.

Conditions to Spawn[]

The Bus Collision incident can only spawn once level 3 calls have been unlocked. In Campaign mode, this happens on Duty #9. Even then, it is a relatively rare incident.

This incident occurs often in Park districts, compared to all other types of districts. It cannot occur during nighttime.

Snowy or rainy weather increases the frequency of this incident considerably, though this is only relative to its base (rare) frequency, leaving it uncommon at best.

This incident may only spawn on a road.

Resolution[]

The Bus Collision incident must be reached within 700 seconds of real time (on SLOW game speed) or it will automatically fail. This is slightly longer than the average response time.

The reputation reward for resolving this incident is +3, regardless of how many randomized elements have been added to the scene.

The maximum possible penalty for ignoring this incident is -9, depending on how many elements have been randomly added to the scene, and then subjected to multipliers from the current difficulty setting. This high penalty makes the incident too costly to ignore, despite the low Reputation reward for properly solving it.

Scene Elements[]

This incident contains one scene with combined firefighter, police, and sometimes medical elements.

Traffic Jam[]

As soon as this scene is created, it begins to generate a Traffic Jam that will expand at a rate of 0.07 along every connecting street. This is a very slow rate, so the traffic jam is unlikely to be too serious by the time the incident is resolved.

The Traffic Jam will slow down all ground-based units attempting to travel through it. Smaller vehicles move faster through Traffic Jams, and airborne vehicles ignore them completely.

As soon as the "Traffic direction" element is resolved, the Traffic Jam will begin to clear, from the center outwards. This happens even if the element was resolved before the rest of the scene.

Description[]

The scene takes place on a road, where a car and a bus have crashed into one another, head-on. Both drivers are alright, standing outside their vehicles. The vehicles are blocking the road, creating a Tech element to be resolved. There will randomly be between 0 and 5 injured passengers inside the bus as well, though access to them is not blocked.

Both drivers must be fined for a random amount of money, up to €1,000 each. In extremely rare circumstances (approximately 1 in 1,000 cases), the bus driver must be questioned instead. The car driver will always be fined at least €100.

Removing the vehicles from the road is a Tech element that requires anywhere between 800 and 1,600 Work Seconds. This is a substantial job for inexperienced or under-equipped firefighters, so it's typically better to send a dedicated tech crew.

Finally, the game will randomly add between 0 and 5 injured passengers to the bus itself. Each passenger element has a 50% chance to appear. The passengers are not blocked, so medics can begin treating them immediately. They are in relatively good health, requiring little medical attention and no transportation to hospital.

Reputation Effects[]

The Reputation reward and Ignore penalty for this incident are a little unusual, compared to most other incidents.

For one, the Reputation reward is completely unaffected by the number of elements appearing in the scene. In fact, each injured passenger resets the Reputation reward to +3, instead of increasing it by any amount.

On the other hand, it is actually possible to receive more Reputation points for ignoring this incident than completely resolving it. This is only possible if the incident includes all 5 injured passengers, but is easy to accomplish.

Breakdown[]

The base Ignore Penalty for this incident is -3. Resolving the tech element increases it by 2 points, and each injured passenger increases it by another 1 point. Thus, resolving the tech element and all 5 injured passengers increases the penalty to +4 - one point higher than the reward for resolving the scenario.

To make sure that the scenario isn't resolved, simply don't send any police officers to the scene. The incident will not be resolved, since there is no one on site to fine the drivers. Thus, after resolving all of the other elements, simply hit "Ignore" to win the +4 Reputation bonus.

Note, however, that this will forfeit the fine from the drivers. You can mitigate this by sending police, and hitting the "Ignore" button as soon as one of the drivers has been fined. Alternatively, you can send police to the scene straight away, but then pull them out after one driver has been questioned - though this can be tricky to accomplish.
