The Brush Truck is a land-based fire-fighting vehicle in 112 Operator that specializes in offroad driving. It is the fastest land-based fire vehicle by a small margin, and cheaper than the standard Fire Truck or Technical Truck. However, it has almost no Water Capacity and provides no skill bonuses, limiting its usefulness to handling tech work, small fire incidents, quick-response, or support for other fire vehicles.
Description[]
"A small fire truck, capable of going offroad. Moves faster than the regular one, but lacks professional tools."
Overview[]
The Brush Truck is a land-based fire-fighting vehicle, specifically designed for handling offroad work. It usually becomes unlocked within the first few duties of a campaign, scenario, or freeplay.
With a maximum speed of 120, the Brush Truck is the fastest land-based fire-fighting vehicle in the game (though only 20% faster than a Fire Truck or Technical Truck). It is also cheaper than either of those vehicles, while still carrying the same number of crew members (4). Though a Brush Truck doesn't provide any skill bonuses to technical work, its quick response time makes it suitable for handling small-scale tech incidents, both in its vicinity and further away. It can also handle smaller fires (such a trash fires) with similar efficiency.
Additionally, when driving offroad the Brush Truck's speed is only reduced to 96 - nearly as fast as a Fire Truck is on city streets. This allows the Brush Truck to reach incidents located inside parks or other offroad areas significantly faster than any other land-based fire vehicle.
On the other hand, the Brush Truck only carries 1 unit of water - a tenth as much water as a standard Fire Truck - and thus cannot substitute for a proper firefighting vehicle at any serious fire incidents. It may still be able to put out small fires on its own (such as trash fires) if it responds quickly enough, as well as incidents occurring inside urbanized areas where it can tap into a local hydrant. The lack of any bonuses to fire-fighting skill or technical work also make the Brush Truck less useful for any work-intensive incidents.
Note: Major Fires tend to occur inside parks, and are far too large to be resolved by a single Brush Truck, or even two. Tree fires, which also occur inside parks, can also prove problematic for a single Brush Truck.
