The Bomb Squad Suit is a police officer personal armor in 112 Operator, that can only be placed in the chest slot. It becomes available late in a career, scenario, or freeplay game, and costs €4,000 to purchase as part of a gear set for police officers.
The Bomb Squad Suit's primary benefit is a 0.95 Explosion Resistance value. If the officer wearing this suit is present at an incident involving a bomb, and that bomb happens to go off, the officer gets a 95% chance to survive uninjured. This is incredibly useful for dedicated bomb specialists, coupled with a Defusal Kit. Of course, the best way to avoid injuries from bombs is to simply get there fast enough; all bomb incidents currently in the game give ample time to defuse the bomb, especially with the Defusal Kit in hand.
Secondly, the Bomb Squad Suit provides a 0.7 Fire Resistance bonus. This reduces the chance of the police officer getting injured while attempting to put out a fire. Naturally, police aren't supposed to be used for fighting fires, but they will often join in the effort to assist fire-fighters or to delay the fire while other units make their way to the scene. In such cases, a 70% protection from fire is quite useful; but these cases are generally too rare to buy a whole suit just for that purpose.
Description[]
"The heavy body armor designed to withstand the pressure generated by a bomb and any fragments the bomb may produce."
Portrait Glitch[]
The Bomb Squad Suit alters the appearance of the officer's portrait, obscuring their face behind a heavy mask. Due to a bug in the current version of the game (2nd Anniversary), the bomb suit may become a permanent part of the officer's default portrait (when not wearing any other portrait-altering clothes). This can only be fixed by manually editing the save file.
Availability[]
Available in the base game of 112 Operator.
