The Baseball Bat is a melee weapon in 112 Operator. It is carried only by civilians, and cannot be purchased for any emergency personnel. It is the weakest of all civilian-carried weapons, with the exception of no weapon at all (fists).
Description[]
"The smooth wooden or metal club used in a sport to hit balls or outside of the sport to hit other things."
Overview[]
The Baseball Bat is a common weapon carried only by criminals. Baseball Bat users include mostly vandals, gang members and rioters. Criminals carrying this weapon are generally scripted to surrender by default when confronted with any number of police officers; but may still attempt to fight, on higher game difficulty or rare occasions, especially when they are in large groups.
The Baseball Bat is a Melee Weapon, and can only attack at Melee range (1.5). Criminals carrying Baseball Bats will always move into Melee range of the officer they're attacking - allowing the officer to use their own Melee Weapon, if they carry one.
The Baseball Bat has a firing rate of 7, meaning that it attacks once per 7 seconds of real time (on SLOW game-speed). This is fairly fast for a weapon.
The weapon itself has a rather low Accuracy rating of 50%. In other words, the chance to hit the target with each attack is equal to half the criminal's own Accuracy skill. If the targeted officer is wearing armor that provides a Protection bonus, or rides around in a vehicle that has any Armor rating, the chance is reduced accordingly.
The Baseball Bat has a Damage rating of 0.25, which gives it a good chance of injuring the targeted officer each time it hits - instantly taking them out of the fight and requiring them to be treated and transported to hospital. If the officer isn't wearing any protective armor with a Damage Reduction bonus, the 7th hit from a Baseball Bat is guaranteed to injure them. Armor with Damage Reduction mitigates this, potentially allowing the officer to endure more than 7 hits before going down - but there are no guarantees.
