The Ambulance is the standard land-based medical vehicle in 112 Operator, typically unlocked at the very start of the game. With spaces for 3 medics and 2 passengers, and a substantial skill bonus to helping the injured, this vehicle is designed to serve as the bulk of medical assistance on land. It is relatively cheap to purchase, as well. The Ambulance is the "baseline" against which all other medical vehicles are measured.
Description[]
"Van equipped with life saving tools. Can be used to transport the injured to hospital."
Overview[]
The Ambulance is usually unlocked at the start of a career, scenario, or freeplay game, and should serve as your primary land-based medical vehicle on most maps.
The Ambulance carries a crew of 3 medics, making it the largest medical vehicle apart from the Transport Ambulance. Once it gets to the incident site, it provides each of its medic with a bonus of +0.5 to their Injured skill, allowing them to treat injuries more quickly and efficiently than most other medical crews.
The Ambulance can carry up to 2 injured passengers to hospital simultaneously, which is good enough for most small to medium incidents. Note that the most common medical incidents involve just one injury, so a single Ambulance can typically be sent to resolve two cases or more before it has to go to a hospital to unload. In case of a larger incident with multiple severe injuries, it may be necessary to send additional vehicles to the site to retrieve the remaining injured; otherwise the Ambulance might have to make multiple trips to the hospital and back.
An Ambulance has a maximum speed of 100, which is mediocre at best. Most other medical vehicles unlocked later in the game have higher speeds, specifically to provide a faster response than a standard Ambulance. Ambulances are dreadfully slow in offroad conditions, moving at a speed of only 25. They are therefore too slow to respond to incidents inside parks or in other areas without sufficient road access. They also suffer the full speed penalty when driving through traffic. There aren't many alternatives to an Ambulance in the base game, but they should be considered for covering such difficult terrain once they do become unlocked.
Since the Ambulance costs only €50,000, it is relatively easy to build up a large fleet of Ambulances.
