The Aerial Ladder Truck is a land-based fire-fighting vehicle in 112 Operator that specializes exclusively in resolving fires and other incidents occurring inside tall buildings. The Ladder Truck has mediocre driving characteristics and only carries 2 team members and 2 units of water, making it far less effective at resolving "normal" fires, not to mention tech incidents. The rarity of tall building fires compared to normal fires makes this tool even more specialized.

Description[]

"Large ladder might be handy to put out fires of large buildings."

Overview[]

The Aerial Ladder Truck is a specialized land-based firefighting vehicle, which only becomes unlocked partway into a career, scenario, or freeplay game. It is usually unlocked together with the Water Tender.

The primary benefit of an Aerial Ladder Truck is the +1.0 High Altitude Work skill bonus it provides to its two crew members whenever resolving an incident inside a tall building. Such incidents are marked as Tall Buildings in their info tab, so you can clearly tell whether the crew will receive this bonus before sending the vehicle in.

Unfortunately, the vehicle provides no skill bonus whatsoever when dealing with "normal" incidents; the vehicle's small team can sometimes struggle to put out seemingly trivial fires. Couple this with the vehicle's small Water Capacity of 2.0 units, equal to that of a Technical Truck, to make matters even worse.

The Aerial Ladder Truck's driving attributes are also far from stellar, with a top speed of only 80, which gets even worse offroad or in traffic. While it has a better acceleration rate than a normal Fire Truck, this doesn't help much. Ladder Trucks cannot be expected to react quickly to any incident unless it's very close by; If you're going to buy them at all, consider spreading them out so that they at least have a chance to reach the fires in time.

Finally, note that the Aerial Ladder Truck is one of the more expensive fire vehicles in the game, at €120,000 apiece - 50% more than a Fire Truck. For less than twice this amount you can get a Helitack that can reach fire incidents much faster, and even performs the job better!
